why is KJ not playing? this is like bonzi wells or marcus thornton all over again. He seems to be shooting and playing better than brewer.
3rd coach who has KJ MCDnalds in the dog house. He is the opposite of Brewer Maybe he has nudes of the coaches wives as opposed to Brew who has nudes of the coaches themselves
Feigen says Dekker took his minutes. Everyone & their mother knows Corey Brewer is taking his minutes. http://www.houstonchronicle.com/spo...int-Capela-proving-he-s-got-game-10617206.php The Rockets have been tinkering with their rotation, using Sam Dekker as a backup small forward in addition to his usual role as a reserve power forward. That reduced K.J. McDaniels' minutes, with McDaniels playing only when the benches were cleared in the final six minutes of Monday's win over the 76ers. Coach Mike D'Antoni said he could continue to experiment and would have to adjust again when Pat Beverley makes his season debut, perhaps Thursday against Portland. "We're still trying to hunt and peck a little bit, try to whittle down the rotation," D'Antoni said. "We're still looking at it a little bit. Then, we'll have to put Pat in and see how that changes things up. It'll be a little bit of a process for a couple, three weeks and then we'll settle in. "Obviously, Pat, it will take him a week or so to get the rust off. But he'll pick up 30 minutes. That's a big chunk of playing time he'll be good at." http://www.chron.com/sports/rockets...s-Takeaways-from-Rockets-105-103-10620521.php Sam Dekker went 4 of 5 and is the Rockets' most accurate shooter other than centers, making 52 percent of his shots and 45.5 percent of his 3s. His play has squeezed K.J. McDaniels out of the rotation, with Dekker picking up some playing time at small forward in addition to backup power forward and Brewer still in the mix. Though Pat Beverley will start, his return should bolster depth and make it even tougher for players to crack the rotation as Eric Gordon goes back to playing off the bench while he and Beverley begin the second and fourth quarters in the backcourt together.
Yeah, it's pretty obvious..i mean, he was really starting to play well and he got literally glued to the bench without a single minute on the floor to put Brewer in the starting five lol
This is what I had speculated. Still don't understand how analytics wouldn't have Brewer pulled during that horrible 3 drought
He was solid on D, and he was getting easy alley oops from Harden. Upset that coach isn't playing him...
@heypartner is going to lose his mind explaining this again lol. Brewer plays because of injuries. Beverley is back, neither KJ nor Brewer will get significant minutes at the 2. KJ is probably ahead of Brewer in the rotation, but probably both MDA and Morey have an interest in Brewer showing ANYTHING for a decent stretch of games so that he can be offloaded. At the 3, McDaniels got outplayed by Dekker, who is now the first SF and PF off the bench, adjusted for matchups.
fwiw: MDA played a lineup of this in the 2nd Q: Harrell Anderson Ariza Dekker Harden 4-4-3-3-1 ?? Or KJ is not taking Brewer's minutes. Doesn't matter which way you look at it, neither KJ nor Brewer deserve more than injury minutes on this team. You're just upsetting yourself over scrubs, imo. DMo coming back will put the final nail in the scrub minutes coffin, that Dekker started nailing first.
Guys....pretty obvious. Brewer is the only player on the team that is underwater on his contract value. If you glue him to the bench, you seal in that low value. The Rockets are trying to rehab his value with whatever minutes they can give him. KJ is signed through next year, so there's no urgency there. In essence, rehabbing Brewers value is worth more to the long term potential of this team than KJs marginal on-court contributions.
Or maybe KJ has shown enough through the earlier games to increase his value as part of a trade piece and now they're benching him to protect that value? I hope not and I've been a fan of his. Was hoping he'd get consistent minutes or at least take some of the under performing Brewer's minutes. But what Finraiser' says above about Brewer also makes a lot of sense being to increase Brewer's value and interest.
they do this on purpose to torture rockets fans. they overplay starters into the ground, while havign a perfectly capable bench to give them plenty of rest but only use half their full potential. fans bashing their heads with a hammer trying to figure out why the **** is ariza going on his 3rd straight year being a top 5 minutes played player and how is ennis and brown the best pgs they can find in the offseason? the answer is simple - **** you. we're millionares we can dow/e we want. you're all filthy goyim peasants dont even deserve to live. you should be thanking us we dont play the starters 48mpg, which we have considered several times. thats what i think. i dunno if any of it is true but i believe it
Most coaches don't use a 13 man rotation. So, there are always going to be guys at the end of the bench. I don't have a problem with a coach experimenting with different rotations during the season.
with Beverley back, Bev and Dekker will take all his minutes. If we ever sign Dmo, Dmo will eat into Dekker's PF minutes.
