All I want is a win over Louisville. If that happens, I can be happy knowing that we are the ultimate trolls.
If this season is "crapping the bed" then more crap for me please. Can we please crap the bed every year until the end of time? That'd be great.
That's a lot of not winning Championships or even qualifying for AAC title games. Houston literally had the ability to qualify for the National Championship and blew it with losses to Navy and SM freaking U. Would like it if they had a shot to play a #4 ranked team every year (let alone 2!) but doubtful it happens.
If you only lose 2 games a year, chances are you are going to go very far in life. Kind of ridiculous how spoiled our fanbase got after last year.
Definitely a long way from where the team was a few years ago. But when you get our hopes up after a dominating win against Oklahoma, and the offense looks like it's run by the Texans since week 3 vs. Cincinnati... The most likely losses this season were vs. Oklahoma and Louisville. I understand lapses happen and forgave them for the Navy loss thinking they would rebound (as did the media/rankings), but the SMU loss was completely unacceptable. Not to mention, the game vs. Tulsa the week before the SMU game was a goal-line stop away from going into overtime (barring a Tulsa 2-point conversion, and the UCF game was a come from behind win. Even against Tulane, their only points in the second half came from a safety from a penalty on Tulane. Extremely frustrating to watch. The defense has had some lapses due to the inexperienced secondary, but manages to play well overall. The offense has been missing since week 2.
Damn well forgot about John Okorn. Reckon I'll watch to see how he does. Last I remember it was like he was playing on drugs here. Everything was just so far off.
Think this plus a bowl win will allow us to open up in the top 20 next year. And that will help our chances with the Committee should we run the table next year which we can certainly do. So this was bigtime. Otherwise we'd be out of sight and out of mind.
