He plays better defense than your particular eyes see as he's very versatile. I see a more in control Brewers this year, although I would rather KJ get some more minutes.
Like other posters said, Brewer is probably spectacular in PRACTICE, plays like those over-eager "Pick Me Coach Put Me In!" types that coaches see as TRUSTY (and other players might resent for being such a try-hard always working to get the coach's attention) Though it doesn't translate productively into the real games.
This is so ridiculous of a notion that keeps getting brought up every day. Modern day teams know so much statistically about a player now - there is almost no chance your going to a fool a team into thinking a player is something they aren't just based on a few "showcase" games. Maybe if the player had little playing time like Kj in Philly but Brewer is a 10+ year vet - he's very much a known quantity around the league.
"Brewer's goat didn't die a natural death . It was a ritual sacrifice in black magic that went horribly wrong. Brewer lost all of his skill, but through the curse the rockets coaches are forced to play him or their first born will die."
Shooting slump? His whole career is one big shooting slump. I don't know why people have such a high expectation of Brewer's shooting. The dude is a career 28% 3pt shooter.
supposedly its vertern precense and experience. i think its more likely he's a great bullshtter. sry kj, u could've been a solid 15mpg off the bench but these mugs think brewer's experience is better than you. sry kj, dekker, harrel. whatevs, first round swag champs aint nothin to mess with. midseason trade ariza for swaggy p to take our swag to another level. im down, with brewre starting as lead ball boy, or sewage maintence. i hear the arena has some plumbing issues.
The Rockets and Corey Brewer himself would be SO much better off If he cut threes completely out of his game. Mid-range and layups all day. Nothing else, management be damned.
