He shouldn't be safe he should honestly be gone as well. There have been a couple of really good chances to fire Klinsmann and he's held off on them (after 2015 gold cup disaster and after Concacaf Cup) because of how much he believed in Klinsmann and look at where we are at now.

I'd guess he only answers to the Board of Directors. At the least, he'll be up for re-election in 2018.

Before he boarded the plane home was the time to do it. No comment from US Soccer so far makes it seem like there's nothing imminent.

I wish they would go after either a well respected South American coach or a really good European coach with a great resume. No more of these MLS has beens to coach the team, think big.

I get what you're saying. Just because they're coaching in the MLS doesn't make them a has-been. In fact, many of them are recently retired players and some have been discussed for bigger things. Peter Vermes was, as recently as a year ago, a target of 2 EPL teams and a national team.

What big name Euro or South American coach with a great resume would you suggest that's currently available? The one benefit at the time to hiring Klinsmann was that he understood the American game better than most from Europe. It just turned out that he's a terrible coach (something Around The World warned us about years ago). Bringing those coaches over won't necessarily have good results. They don't understand the American player and have expectations that might be unrealistic.

As far as domestically based coaches, I would be interested in Vermes, Óscar Pareja (yes I know he's Colombian but he's also coached in the US Youth National team system), Gregg Berhalter, or Pablo Masteroni.

Either of those choices are mighty great imo. Like was mentioned, add Vermes to the mix, add Pablo Mastroeni to the mix. I would have said Jason Kreis but he has a job now.

A number of good young American coaches that understand the American player, the game and deserve a chance.
In terms of foreign coaches, not sure who now. Peckerman was my preference when he and Klinsmann were available and USSF went full on for Klinsy as they'd had a thing for him since 06.

Right now, I'm too lazy to google where loco Marcelo Bielsa is right now but he would be an interesting choice(definitely exciting).

Don't even know. I'm not even sure how much the board really give a crap. I really don't even remember who ran against him when he was up for re-election the last two times...or if anyone ran against him.

Currently unemployed and fighting a 50 million Euro breach of contract suit from Lazio after he quit 2 days into his job with them in July. He'd certainly be an interesting addition to the list. I'm not sure what it is, but the Argentines don't seem to look down their noses at American soccer like just about every other footballing nation.

Time for a change, I agree. I am indifferent towards him tho.

At this point, it's pretty evident that the players don't trust him anymore. That lineup change against Mexico was completely unjustified, and put the entire team under undue stress. It's time both Klinsmann and Gulati go. It's inexcusable that so much progress over the last 20 years can be undone in the span of a few months because of one man's arrogance.

Team talent and coaching prowess comes and goes. You'll have lows and highs, even though progress looks like it's moved forward instead of stalling. Y'all enjoyed high rankings and first-place hex finishes and such things, but every cycle is different. First one without major players had to get used to it.

No time to panic. There are still many games to play here.

While 3 points isn't required to still qualify, they have to act as if it is. We cannot still be empty handed after tonight and with a road game coming up. I'm a little concerned about the back line as they're a bit short handed with injuries (Fabian Johnson and DeAndre Yedlin both out of action) and Cameron just getting back (only 2 games into his return from the knee injury). If we can possess and minimize their ability to counter, it's still going to be tough because they're going to sit behind the ball. We have to have Pulisic in a position to be able to run at the defense and create.

Bradley and whomever starts in the middle with him has to remain patient and stick with the plan throughout the game. If they start to panic and start to go off on their own, we could be in for a bad night.

We should be owning - this is ridiculous, Klinsman built this mess after the Gold Cup, he continues to tinker never letting the players play - and get used to a style, that formation against Mexico was STUPID.
