They should not use a gov't website to promote their portfolio and use marketing language. It's inappropriate and it's definitely promotional.

Ok, I went to the "meet the future First Lady" webpage, which is at Www.greatagain.gov. You guys are really reaching on this. It just lists what magazine covers she's been on, what TV shows she's been on, and then mentions her jewelry line which is sold on QVC. Really? THIS is what you guys are upset about?

Wow, you guys need a new hobby or something. Damn, I can't believe I'm defending a Trump for anything, but this is silly.

I'm actually only very minorly perturbed by it. I was wondering about the hypocrisy from people who have slandered the actual charitable Clinton foundation which did nothing like this at all.

Is it troublesome that the Trumps are advertising their businesses on a .gov website? Yes, it is. Is it hugely upsetting? Not so much. But it is a violation, and is the kind of thing Trump supporters were against with great zeal during the campaign.

Exactly, this is a drop in the bucket compared to other Trump scandals (including those just this week, like letting white supremacists into the white house) - but it's worth it to keep highlighting this stuff.

This CANNOT be the new normal and we cannot stop being motivated by things like this.

This in itself isn't a big deal, but we will be seeing how much all the little things will add up. He hasn't even been sworn in and he's already making his supporters look like hypocrites from his back peddling to promises to watching him and his family enrich themselves. I mean, his businesses are held in blind trust.... by his children.

Just to put you mind at ease. Melania Trump's jewelry is no longer sold on QVC, and it has not been sold on QVC recently. The Gov't website is not "directing" anyone to her jewelry line. I did a search and the only place I could find it was EBay(LOL).

This does seem like a bit of a reach. They changed it quickly after being criticized on it like Maddow said.

Right they did. It's funny that it was there in the first place, buy I can understand they are amateur at this stuff and give them benefit of the doubt. Buy it's only a matter of time when that dry up...

Now as for those that go crazy over every thing Clinton does, unless they are hypocrite, I would think they go crazy over small stuff like this.

Agreed. At least a new topic of conversation in the D&D. But Trump has a way of using up all the oxygen in a room.

I'm not taking it too seriously myself though. Trump's shenanigans will always be good for some laughs -- mostly gallows humor now. But, once the votes rolled in, I girded myself for a long 4-8 years of calamity. There's no need to be outraged by anything he does anymore because this is what people actually wanted. He can take away health care, break up families, impoverish working Americans and enrich investors, get into bed with Putin and betray unto their deaths our allies in the Muslim world, sour longstanding international relationships and start trade wars. It'll all suck, but this is what we said we wanted. So, I don't have **** to complain about when it happens. Bring it on. If I can make a good joke about it, I will.

This is great. Many of you need to start looking at the next 4 years through a different lens.

I have never felt more at peace & happy as I was a few years back when the Rockets came back to win a game I attended. I was high-fiving all these people I normally wouldn't; I love all of you. So here's some advice:

Either protect your assets as much as you can within the parameters of the "law" OR devise a scheme aimed at an obviously vulnerable target audience. At last count, there were 60,834,437 of them. No, that's unfair. There's a sizable subset in there though, I assure you.

If you voted for him, Good News! You probably know some poor soul who honestly ate up all the empty rhetoric and incoherent policy Trump babbled on about when it wasn't written for him. If you didn't vote for him, these people are easy enough to spot. Look for your common "Deplorable" or "Hillary for Prison" bumpers stickers and accessories. Don't use big words, play on nostalgia, and throw in a thinly-veiled racist comment- but only in private and only to the more obvious supporters.

I have more tips and tricks, specifically suited for manipulating such weak minds but I think I'll write a book instead. Gotta get it while the gettin' is good, you know?

I met a guy a few months ago who made a killing off of those T-shirts (you know the ones) over the summer. I missed that opportunity but there's still time! I am not throwin' away my -shot!

You welcome ;) I mean I'm only 1/4-kidding, but it's all in the game though, right?

Yeah, after looking at that website the bigger travesty is whoever Trump hired to design it.

His logo is horrendous, aspect ratio is just arbitrary for some of those background pictures, amateur button design. Its a mess.

More worried that he wants his kids . .. . who will be running his business mind you . . . to have some security clearence
Nothing like having inside info to run your business

There is little in this country that cannot be justified through the profit motive
As long as you trying to make a profit .. . people will forgive you.

Except it wasn't over nothing, and even Trump must have agreed since he changed his page on the website. I guess you are very cavalier about people using govt. to enrich their own coffers unless it's Hillary doing it.

Were there links to the "products", or was it just "plain text"?

I don't believe there were hyper text links. I think it just served as an add for various business portfolios. This was much more plain use of govt. position for personal gain than almost anything of which Hillary was accused.

The good news is that Newlin clarified it doesn't go for anything that Melania is selling now, and Trump changed the offending passages on his page.

The bad news is that he hasn't yet taken office, and this kind of behavior has already started.
