Well the good thing is that the Rockets seemed to learn from their mistake and after playing Brewer a ton in the first half, they benched him towards the end of the game and it made everything better.
He just played his normal minutes in starter order / reverse order. 16 minutes like every game. This method means Gordon is fresh enough to play the entire 4th Q with Harden. I'm really enjoying how more than one person is explaining MDA's plan the whole game, as if it wasn't his plan...and he figured out his mistake. lulz Nothing to see here.
I guess that's one way of looking at it, perhaps the plan was to play Brewer early in order to have a chance to come back from how him being on the court negatively impacts the team.
Let me explain....in EVERY game MDA plays Harden like this: Harden ALL 1st Quarter 6 min mark of 3rd to End ALL 3rd Quarter 8-6:00 minute mark of 4th to END Gordon Sits at 6min mark of 1st Starts second Q when Harden rest Sits at 6 min mark in 3rd Starts 4th Q when Harden rests Brewer now Starts 1st until Gordon comes in at 7min mark Finishes 2nd Q when Gordon sits at 6 min mark Starts 3rd until Gordon comes in 7min mark, Gordon plays rest of game
Yes, starting means "playing early" MDA explained the plan. It is in Feigen's article. The plan was not to play extra minutes. He got his normal minutes...just earlier, so Gordon could close the game. Plus, if you followed Gordon and Harden's staggered minutes, it was easy to guess. You just needed it explained to you.
Of course the smart thing would be to not play Brewer at all so you wouldn't have to work out when you are going to suffer on the court.....but yeah, it's good you explained why the Rockets decided to suck early in the game.
You went through all that trouble to b**** at Coach in two posts, when you could have congratulated him for a good plan to dominate the 4th Q. But nah, easier to b**** at Coach. Takes less thought, and few will argue with negativity. It Works.
The decision to start the worst non-rookie on the roster is a bad decision no matter how it turns out. He has no business being in the game at any point, so if you are playing him, you're wrong.
While I generally love all your posts especially with the play breakdowns, and not as much with the other poster; I'm going with them on this one no matter what MDA's thinking is. First, playing Brewer at all is a waste and just plain dumb. He SUCKS, SUCKS, SUCKS and SUCKS some more. Second, Harden and Gordon starting the game have gotten the Rockets off to 30 point first quarters just about every game. The problem with the second unit is: a) no Bev or DMo, and b) not playing the best players on your bench since you are missing 2. Playing KJ, Dekker, Harrell and Nene is enough of a rotation to NEVER play Sewer or Anus. That alone will give us a +10 in every game over what we have been doing.
Considering we made our run in the 4th when he was sitting with Gordon at the 2 it dose not prove anything.
NO ****IN BREWER! NO ****IN SEWER! NO ****IN BREWER! NO ****IN SEWER! NO ****IN BREWER! NO ****IN SEWER! NO ****IN BREWER! NO ****IN SEWER!
