I've never been called racist until I've gotten on these boards. I have more black and Hispanic friends than white friends while I'm dating a Latin woman. Racist card is like the reset button on Nintendo when you know the odds are stacked against you.
Better to think like that than actually examine the issues of race. Why actually look at the issues, and instead just behind the "they're playing the race card" line.
I can't help but laugh at it. BTW, how long do you think it will be before someone is says you have a few black friends and you think youre not racist.
Race is an over played excuse in America today. The best at what they do are typically rewarded appropriately. I think the women/equal pay argument has more validity in America.
I have lived in SAN Antonio, Dallas, Houston, and Louisiana. I've lived in the hood, the suburbs, the cities, etc. Race is a personal problem. It's an excuse. The only fair argument with racism against blacks in today's world would be the nervousness few policeman have displayed in moments of quick desicion! And.... There are your knuckleheads on both sides. For every KKK white nationalist, there is a Extremist black panther member. The crazy people are out there. Poverty is a much bigger issue today. Parenting is equally an issue and statistically black kids are not growing up with two parents. 72% of black youths grow up with a single parent! National average is 25%. Kids in single parent homes are typically going to display less normal behaviors. I think that is the biggest thing holding back Black America. 72% is a staggering number.
You don't really understand racism at all because that's the root cause of the issues you described. Statistically black people are less likely to get jobs in America due to the color of the skin or the sound of their name. That's what causes greater levels of poverty. Statistically black schools get less resources and have many more problems than suburban schools, that's what causes greater levels of poverty. Statistically black men get incarcerated for more mar1juana than any other group, that's what might cause single parent households. You want to talk about single parent households yet don't care about a woman's right to choose. If you really wanted to cut down on kids growing up without parents, give women the right to abort and not have unwanted children. These are the issues that are holding back black america ^^^^ Fix these issues, and then maybe you can say that black people have an equal playing field and that pulling the race card is an excuse. Your ignorance of the root causes of these issues is quite staggering. Don't say you're not a racist when you have a very, very shallow understanding of the word.
For the sake of understanding and discussion...not arguing... Define less likely, and how far back do these statistics go? Black schools sounds like segregation. Are you referring to inner city schools? Is there data support that correlation? Are you saying the woman should kill them before they get to make their mark on the world? I am a firm believer in personal accountability. Kids in schools all over the country can be successful or failures based on their choices. Being a **** stick turd is not exclusive to any color of skin, nor is being successful in school. As success in school is a great help to anyone, why would someone NOT take advantage of a free education
Nobody is arguing that success is impossible for blacks. What is proven is that they don't have the same opportunities as whites.
Keeping the young adult coverage thing is hardly relevant to the ACA in the first place. They can 'look at' the preexisting condition policy, but it's built to complement the market and mandate policies and can't stand on its own. He's softening up his language in hopes of improving his approval scores, that's all. It will still be a total repeal essentially. And, "replacing with health savings accounts" is a fancy way of saying they'll do nothing for you at all.
I'm not trying to be obtuse. I will admit ignorance in that I live in the RGV, where all we know is title 1 schools. I hardly ever see racial division in my school or society. In my school, our population is majority hispanic, then white, then black, but i would venture to say the black population is less than 1%. My question is are these lack of opportunities brought on by others, or by their own individual choices and/or the choices of those responsible for raising them.
Lack of opportunities that are problematic are that blacks are under-identified as gifted and talented even when they would qualify. They are over-identified as special-ed even though that isn't needed for them. That doesn't happen to all African-Americans, it doesn't mean they can't still work hard and succeed, but it does mean that they have less opportunity at gifted and talented education which is a set back that should be addressed.
Why do you think they are under identified? I'm very intrigued by this point seeing as I work in a public school and have a very objective set of criteria for acceptance into these programs.

Afraid not. Just don't feel like wasting time with you in this thread when I've posted in multiple threads on the various issues of how trump's policies aren't feasible. There's not much Trump can do with ACA a few minor tweaks and rename it since this thread is about ACA. The issue is how do you convince young and healthy folks to subsidize everyone else.
