Thanks. Actually if you look at basketball reference he's basically eliminated everything from ten feet out to the three point line. In other words he shoots threes or he gets inside the paint.

As I said in the Lin thread Atkinson deserves to be in consideration for COY. Lopez didn't wake up one morning and by himself decided to shoot 3s.

He could actually have a reduction in restricted area FGA, and still show an increase in % to other shots. In fact, that appears to be the case. nba.com stats says it is about the same from last year (mpg adjusted) and bballreference says much less within 3'. Also, he getting much less in the Paint. Was Schuhmann's point that Lopez is improved this season because he has more FGAs in the restricted area? I thought he was just implying that Lopez has been more efficient on offense this season because he's eliminating the inefficient long 2 based on shot distribution. Overall Brook is down on FGA from last season (15.8 down to 14.1) but I think that's more due to Atkinson's insistence on running motion and less post ups. Brook's effective field goal % is up from .515 to .587. His True Shooting is also up from 56% to 59%. It's basically what Morey has preached, layups and 3s. The one argument you can make though, is that shooting the long 3 so much will hurt his rebounding numbers, which it clearly has this season.

abandoning the mid range game, restriccts himself to layups and threes and fts, doesnt rebound or defend, has an extensive injury history..i think we found our center. he's a perfect fit
