Don't take this as a theory of anything. I just enjoy watching the characters. And like how Daryl is staying true to himself. Gotta love Daryl sympathizing with his captor, "I know why you did it." (ie started bowing down). "You did it for someone else. That's why I can't do it." read: Because I have no one Negan can use as blackmail, so should fight the fight that y'all can't. Not only does Negan not have a captive for whom Daryl would sacrifice, but Daryl might be calling BS on Negan's threat to put him on the wall. Daryl could be thinking Negan needs him, so won't actually kill him. Which is partly true, since the original reason Negan took him captive is to get Rick/Alexandria in line. And now multiple captors are empathizing with their captive, as they feel bad about their choices made and he becomes symbolic of any hope they may still have.
It's funny because I now know what Negan meant when he said "not until you try a little" after Dwight suggested killing him. It's almost as if the more defiant Daryl gets in not bowing down the more Negan wants him to join therefore sparing him that much more.
Watched most of these and have some in the queue. Did not have Silicon Valley, The Night Of, Veep,& Deadwood on my list but will now add them. Thanks.
Episode didn't do much for me mainly because there's not real threat to Daryl, he's wearing heavy plot armor so we know he's not going to get offed by Negan. If they were going to be that bold they would have done it in the premiere. I'm with those that have said this whole show has turned into a rinse and repeat plot wise......they really stopped exploring the world and just settled into this safezone, villian and conflict cycle.
Yeah you are probably right and the issue I have is the same issue I had with the comic, lots of repetition with new characters.....oh well.....
I wonder how long they'll last like this, if it'll follow comics or branch off again (I mean from the spots they're at). Also. . . The comic is planning to go like 300 issues (I think they're at 150 something now, I can't remember). So if the show is roughly early 100s... Wow.. Like another 14 seasons??? Haha, obviously not, but.. Haha, so far to go. I also kind of thought comic got boring after a while at this part, I might need to revisit it though.
The walking dead is becoming like the later episodes of Dexter. Same plot, different villain. AMC will milk this show while it dies a slow painful death.
Daryl is not in the comic. So we dont know what his arc is. As for future storylines....dont be so sure about same plot, different villian. Spoiler The current baddie is not the same a previous ones.
Yeah... I'm honestly surprised too. I think the holdout of last season finale and stretching episodes (like in season 6 probably more than 1/2 could be cut) has caught up. Negan could at least make it entertaining again (possibly). I just don't know how they can sustain at the moment, it'll be interesting what their plans are for the show. Obviously if someone is familiar with the comic then they know Negan is a lot different than the Governor etc, but I am not sure casual fans will stick it out.
Dont really care why they do it. I still like the show but if they want to sustain interest they should either spend the money or drop some characters.
The mattresses Negan's group took I think. So they took them just to be assholes I suppose. This Negan guy's character is pretty damn annoying. We get it, he is an *******. Think they are going way overboard to prove that point.
