Well the problem is that we haven't had truly valid causes like that in a long time. Perhaps I would think differently about it if I didn't see so many really stupid protests that really have no legitimate cause.
Sure, and that's unquestionable. That said, the country at one point gave Obama a mandate to do whatever he wanted.....and he did stupid things with that mandate so it was quickly rescinded. The exact same thing could happen to Trump and the Republicans if they waste political capital on unpopular and ill conceived legislation. The pressure is on when you fully get a mandate to do what you want because people will expect results.
Poor Deckard. He's having a hard time accepting that Trump is a more pure Democrat than Hillary, despite Trump being more consistent on his beliefs over the last couple decades than Hillary would ever would be. People like Deckard are more concerned about the "D" on the paper ballot and painting the world blue than they are about he candidate themselves. Hillary is a fraud and will do whatever it takes to get elected. It didn't work in 2008 and it didn't work in 2016. This is what happens when people blindly follow a party.
I agree the protests against Trump when he's done nothing yet probably don't do much...but if he foolishly tries to take away gay rights or any rights the protest then will be very warranted. See the problem I have with a Mandate is people seem to think it means "Do whatever you want." almost like the people have blind faith behind the president as if he's a dictator. They voted for him to do certain things. Create jobs, immigration, these two things he should focus on as that was his core message. Just because they voted him in doesn't mean they agree with EVERYTHING he or those around him want to do. The other side of the country still exists you know, the president is a representative of the entire country after all.
I don't disagree. That said, I don't think it's likely. Things like gay marriage was put in place by the SCOTUS and a conservative SCOTUS at that. It's also solidly based on law. I just can't see how it could be overturned.
...so the Clinton supporter has a problem with lying? I've officially seen it all, folks. Take a break for a while. You're sounding like a senile old doofus.
This needs to be Trump's message going forward. And he needs to be serious about it and not just pay lip service. I'm glad he at least said it though. Aside from that, I don't care too much one way or another and tend to lean conservative anyway. Just stop building a platform on discrimination and inflammatory rhetoric. His supporters need to listen to him and calm their ****.
^Comments like the above are so stupid and contribute nothing to anything. Everyone has an agenda and an end goal. These people who claim positions of power are all "dishonest" and "crooked" to the extent that they will do anything to get to where they are and stay there. That's how it is on every side. None of these people got to where they are by only playing fair all the time and working hard. They have like all done unsavory things. Whether that is in or out of the public eye is another story. They're all just bad. And really, you don't want a shmuck who will just bend over and rot at the top of the food chain anyway. Sometimes less than favorable characteristic traits are well suited for certain positions. The thing is, though, that they should at least have the best intention of ALL their constituents in mind, and not just "some" or the "majority" of them. That's what really matters. I couldn't care less who gets the most dirt dug up on them as long as at the end of the day they're doing everything they can to benefit the entire country as a whole while at the same time upholding and respecting the rights of ALL of their citizens.
Hillary is not honest. But Trump lied more during the campaign than Hillary or any other candidate in years. It is demonstrable and has actually been shown.
I'll give Trump his due and this was a good interview for him and very good sign for his presidency and the country. I will say though this basically fits what I said that for many who supported him Trump is already showing that he's going to back off some core campaign messages. As I said before he did run a con job. . From my own POV if he doesn't completely repeal the ACA, build a massive border wall or jail political opponents like he said he would during the campaign this is a con that I think is better for the contry.
