I thought they played a good game. West Virginia is the most complete team UT has faced.

Still some stupid mistakes, but I'd chalk this loss up to systematic deficiencies. Pass blocking, field goal protection (why do we have a 5'10" 210 pound snapper in there?), interior pass rush, linebacker pass and run coverage, and safety help.

I would agree that West Virginia was th best team Texas has played.
    Big 12:
    1. West Virginia
    2. Oklahoma
    3. Oklahoma State
    4. Texas - I'm guessing we beat TCU

One loss closer to firing Strong. It hurts to wish for a loss but it's for the better in the long run.

I like what I've been seeing from the team. Defense especially is getting stops and limiting the big plays as much. I think we beat TCU and Strong keeps his job.

The defense has improved a lot since Strong has taken over but should a win over a possible .500 TCU team save your job?Gonna be a tough decision either way but honestly I don't know. A win today would have been big but if BU continues their free fall, there is a chance that all of our wins this season came from .500 or worse teams.

This team still can't put it altogether. Some of the defense has played better, but the secondary is still horrendous. The offense stagnates too often. We still can't make extra points. I don't know what to think anymore. Even if some of this stuff isn't directly Strong's fault, he has to be responsible for managing his coordinators and the gameplan.

Apparently Texas has the most games started by Freshmen and Sophomores of any team in the country.

111 starts followed by Miami Ohio, LA-Monroe, Wyoming, and Syracuse.

What are the chances Foreman wins the Heisman? I think he's going to be a finalist.

I'd put them at 10%. He's going to be hurt in terms of precedent and publicity by the fact that he's on a mediocre team. I think his odds of going to New York are about 50%.

Bruce Feldman has him at #2 right now. That doesn't say a whole lot, but I think his chances are greater than 50% of going to NY.

Westbrook and Hurts should not be in the running, in my opinion. Darnold has a better case, but Feldman including him seems like a knee jerk reaction. I haven't watched enough of some of these guys, but there is a solid argument for Jake Browning and Deshaun Watson to a lesser extent. I think Foreman is easily the most electrifying player in college football besides Lamar Jackson, but I've also been to every UT home game this year.

What are the chances the Texans draft him?

I don't know how to interpret this. Does that mean good things for the future as these guys mature? Or does it mean we're not developing our talent as they get older, so they get benched for younger players?

We just don't have that many upperclassmen on the roster really (43 Jr./Sr. vs. 77 Fr./So.). A lot has to do with that horrid 2013 class which was not only a small class to begin with (15 commits), but had a ton of attrition. Believe there are only 5 players from the class still on the roster.

But the future is really bright as well, especially on the offensive side where Buechele, C. Johnson, Duvernay, and pretty much the entire OL look very good. If Heard and Burt can continue to develop, that is a lot of weapons on offense. The defense is a little more shaky IMO, especially in the secondary where it's hard to tell which way guys like Hill, Boyd, and Davis will go.

With that many underclassmen, what is y'alls confidence level that Strong can make the next step?

IMO, my confidence level is low. There just aren't any signs to me that there will be an immediate change when there have been coaches across college football that have made an immediate impact.

50-50 for me. The bigger question is whether there is an available coach that you feel has a better chance than Strong. If the answer is yes, then you make the move IMO. But if you're not sure about any candidates or someone like Herman goes elsewhere, then maybe best you ride another year out and see what comes about it or who is available next year.

I have a bad feeling that UT will want to give Strong a 4th year regardless of how the last 2 games go (barring a lost to KU of course).

If they lose to Kansas, Strong will be flying home in coach instead of being employed as one.
