https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coal_in_China Somebody tell Drumpf. Even his buddies in China are reducing coal. And here's the comparison of air people breath in America vs in China, just for ***** and giggles: http://aqicn.org/map/
They had an economic slowdown meaning lower consumption. That's it. Coal is the short term answer but if you want a long-term energy solution it's nuclear.
I lived in China 9 years. All I can say is, you don't have to feel guilty to your body for smoking cigarettes there: it's like smoking 30 a day anyway! Imagine not seeing the sun and also not seeing the clouds everyday: there's just a thick white haze that blocks any sign of sun or clouds. Literally, you cannot even figure out which direction the sun is in.
I can't believe people still think coal is the answer and now our president thinks it is. I mean people, old techs die out and are replaced with new ones. At some point you have to just give that stuff up.
You mean new tech like "clean coal"? See, this is why the Democrats lost the election: it's ok for them to say "clean coal", "trade reform", or "immigration reform". But if a Republcian says it: gasp, they can't believe it.
Yeah. I've read your posts. You're pretty stupid most of the time. Because it's cheap. What Western countries have done is declare a mandate of unilatiralism. We'll unilaterally use expensive, inefficient energy sources like wind and solar. We'll unilaterally make production costs expensive for our industries and drive them out.
And you're a white supremacist. Lmao, as if I care about your opinion. WHITE PEOPLE SCIENTIST. BLACK PEOPLE ATHLETE. Oh wait I'm sorry. You probably WANT me to come after you so you have a reason to shoot me right?
It may not be the answer but it can certainly win some votes! Trump knows we aren't moving back to coal.
I thought democrats lost because of Hilary Clinton being the candidate? I swear it changes every day now. Also, if it is proven that coal can be clean and would be better than other alternatives then sure. Trump didn't seem to really care if it was clean or not though, he thinks climate change is a fraud and has 0 care for the EPA which should scare people for a variety reasons beyond just climate change...like you know...clean water.
Because it's cheap is really not a compromise when it comes to the environment if you ask me I guess.
You can't fix the environment without also making China and India submit. And because we're using clean energies, we can't compete with them industrially. Once we get beaten, what would happen? Bet you the Chinese and the Indians wouldn't implement clean energies by themselves. Sad to say but fossil fuels are a necessary evil at this point in time. I also supported Trump. I don't really care if you don't care about my opinion but at least argue civilly. You find my arguments to be white supremacist? Whatever. But I put my case forward properly.
You started the ad hominem buddy. I started dialogue with good intentions and you retorted with a full-douche response. There are plenty of gold mine posts from you that are evidence enough to paint you as a psychopath/sociopath, white supremacist, anti-LGBT, etc.
While I understand this argument and even accept it in some ways (It's like in order for the Rockets to compete they need other superstars...sure it's bad for the NBA to horde stars on one team but what can you do right?) so I get the argument... I just think of America as leaders and I also think that we could benefit by leading the way. I'm afraid if we continue to lean so much on old energy tech that we will be left behind on the new tech instead of once again leading the way and shoving it in China's face that they are again a step behind us when it comes to innovation.
Obama won PA and said clean coal could work. Hillary said she would put coal miners out of work. Think the Democratic Party doesn't come off as disingenuous?
Yeah, politicians lie. As Trump did and will probably come off as disingenuous as well. The main difference is that Clinton and Obama didn't say Climate Change is a hoax and that they could get rid of the EPA.
No he doesn't. Other than his own laziness, what precisely would stop the Trump we have seen for the last year from putting a gold plated coal smelter in the middle of the National mall? Answer- nothing. When you see a wannabe dictator take the oath of office...take him at his word that he will try to do things he says, even if they are absurd. People in the same situation in the past did not....see how it worked out for them.
