If we don't resign Motiejunas i feel like we should still go after a similar type player to come off the bench. When Harden sits our ball movement and play-making sucks, that is partly on ennis and partly because we don't have a passing big man off the bench. Someone like a Rudy Gay (not necessarily him) would be cool because D'Antoni's past teams have utilized a power forward with passing/ shooting ability. I thought this would be Nene's role but his minutes have been staggered weirdly so he is not always playing with the bench. A pick and pop threat would make our bench units offense somewhat manageable to a point where we may not lose leads while Harden rests. This comes about because i am worried about EG's ability to run the point as the primary ball handler, i like what he's doing but not sure if he can do it all by himself. Who could we target that fits that sort of description?
SO you want playmaking and then suggest "someone like a Rudy Gay" Rudy Gay is a bonafide chucker. I would cut Tyler Anus and bring back Andrea Goldilocks.
If Dmo and Bev return, that will cut minutes from Brewer and Ennis. That is automatically a win. Capella, KJ, and Dekker has been showing steady improvement. If we can dump the dead weight and parleigh it for a useful player, I do think that we will be a threat to secure home court. Literally everything went wrong last year. Some things should go right this year.
I know he's a restricted FA...is it possible to trade his rights? I'm unclear on the rules governing this.
If you want a passing big man the last thing you would want is Rudy Gay. Hm...playmaking available bigs..Hawes, Monroe maybe Gallinari if Denver falls...and that's all I can think of right now. The season is still young and most teams still have hopes.
If DMO comes back, who gets left out of rotation? Brewer? Doubt it. To many private pictures of coach MDA KJ? Nope. To good. Dekker? Nope. Chandler Parsons Jr. Maybe there is no room for DMO
I think there is room for a healthy DMO that has a low post game like pre-injury 14/15. If he does not have that ability any longer. There is no real room for him on this roster. Certainly not at his asking price. There are times when the 3's are not dropping. When you need to grind out a couple of points. DMO's low post back to the basket game is viable for that.
I'm over Dmo. Assuming he is out of this year, this will mean he pretty much only played a little over 1yr out of the past 3yrs. That's a negative return on investment to me. Doesn't matter how good you are if you're made of glass.
No. But after 23th November he won't be able to be traded for this season, and therefore the incentive to pay him will be MUCH lower.
Yes. Until he either signs an offersheet, or we take away his qo he is restricted. Even if years pass. Even if his rights are traded he will be restricted to his new team.
