Um, there's not much to back that up vs other coaches. Not unless you think playing rooks is mandatory because you're in the lottery.
I think MDA is still feeling out the roster to see what he has that's why we're seeing Trez will have a big night one game, Kj will have a big night, Sammy D had a big night, only one not flourishing in this new system is Brewer. Imo Kj should be starting in that Sefalosha in okc role
I remember a particular play a few games back where KJ missed a defensive rotation and MDA was really upset and subbed him out. Not sure why he got singled out for **** defense when that's what half the team hangs their hats on.
MDA must be trying to showcase Brewer for a trade. Unfortunately it's backfiring significantly because Brewer is hot garbage with no redeeming qualities.
Nothin actually. Rockets just saving KJ for the playoffs. He will be the X factor playing lock down D on Curry and then lighting him up for 3's
I doubt KJ can make up the talent gap between Rox and Dubs. I hope rockets don't end up #7 or 8 and meet a top team in first round.
This is the 3th coach that has planted KJ to the bench. Maybe all 3 loves vets over him, or maybe KJ did something wrong.
something similar happened tonight. KJ made a really lazy pass to trez and Dan Tony went nuts - the most upset he got all game by far. I think the extra frustration from Dan Tony stems from the fact that he sees potential in him, but he's just not there yet, I guess. You don't get mad at a bench player like Bobby Brown because you know what you've got in him. KJ could actually be something, which makes his occasional mental lapses more frustrating
I tend to agree with this - love me some KJ, but there has to be some reason why he has struggled to find playing time for 4 coaches now counting his Sixers days. At some point someone needs to bite the bullet, let him make his mistakes and give him the confidence to start utilizing his exceptional skills to help the team. Take a note from Pops - sometimes you just have to focus on what a player is good at rather than harping on what they lack.
theres a lot of things that goes on in the locker room and in practice that we fans have no clue about. For all we know it could be he is being outplayed in practice (even brewer), it may also be attributed to attitude. We already know that dantoni is a stickler for team chemistry and cohesion. Obviously the talent is there and the skill are there for KJ, but there are so many intangibles that the coaches look into.
I am convinced Brewer makes all his 3s and finishes all his layups in practice. Its the only explanation.
He must be making a lot of bad plays in practice and messing up a lot when the coaches review the game tape. Because I'm with the others that said It's 4th coach and he still can't get playing time. At some point it is what it is. The guy just might not be a rotation level player. I def think he's a good trade chip because you can alway fool someone to take a flyer on a potential 3&D guy who's young and athletic. But man this guy got a clean slate with MDA and he still can't get off the bench.
I saw him pregame doing his warmup last night and instead of practicing his shooting, he was under the rim collecting balls for people.
