Wow...how do you account for the degenerates that are trashing our streets and rioting...These arent protests...they are burning and damaging property...Wanna know how this can all stop...If the current President made a public appeal to everyone...maybe just maybe people would calm down and try to move forward.

What it is, it's an attempt to make a strawman argument. So let's see...according to your logic in my post I said : Trump supporters are racist..and everyone else who is against Trump is an angel who can do nothing wrong. Is that right? That's what you thought I posted?

 

I think the more important thing here isn't that they may be racist. It's that they resent being called racist for having white skin while also thinking the system is rigged against them, and also for being called stupid and provincial for sticking to their religious convictions when it conflicts with the trend of public attitudes on various social issues.

It's that resentment that pushed Trump to victory. Counteracting it by continuing to call these people racist, xenophobic, homophobic, etc. doesn't really address the problem. It only makes them stand firmer in their beliefs.

The new jobs will be automated, which might mean a few more jobs for the young people with technical educations but for the old guys with only a high school diploma, there won't be any new opportunities. Add in the fact that protectionist policies will likely increase prices, and that particular bloc of Trump voters will actually see their situation worsen.

No. My argument is : if you cast a vote with your own hand, in favour of a politician with a racistic, xenophobic agenda who also is a sexist then you by definition condone those ideologies and therefore that makes YOU a racist, xenophobe or islamophobe.
That;s the meaning of vote. It is a responsibillity and now every voter is responsible.

Heck, everyone should be concerned about what Trump will do as President. And apparently almost as many republicans (if you can believe what they post here) are unhappy with who is now President as Democrats...

Double down on these tactics at your own peril, lefties. After Trump's victory, these people are going to feel like they are part of something larger than themselves now. They are going to feel empowered and strong. They are going to feel like kicking your asses if you don't watch your step. You should interpret that literally. While the violence over the last few days has been almost entirely leftists rioting and such, we should now expect there will come a point when we see violence reciprocated against some of these people. It surely will not be as pervasive as what we have seen from the Democrat left in places like Baltimore, or around the country over the last few days. But there are sure to be at least a few incidents.

The efforts of the left to make these people feel like they were isolated and alone in their attitudes and beliefs have officially failed utterly. Whatever sense of power and control the left has derived from that sense during the presidency of Barack Obama has now been revealed as a fraud. These people will be empowered by this event like you may not be able to imagine just yet.

So, if you people are smart, you will stop this vile, dishonest, anti-social, bullying crap.
