I believe it's Wesley Matthews you're thinking of. When he said it, I was impressed because Matthews probably defends him better than anyone else.
Hakeem was one of a kind. Offense Defense Footwork Skillset Longevity Leadership Humility Faith Family everythang! Man was a saint. Or close to being one.
Lmao at Billups saying we haven't proven we can play defense the SAME night we hold San Antonio under 100 IN San Antonio. What are these idiots watching up there???
this is like 5th time real elite defenders picking Harden as the toughest player to guard. Tony Allen said exactly the same thing too.
He is the toughest to guard because he has mastered the game completely on offense. And with Mike Anthony here, he has taken it a step further. He could write a book on how to play offensively in the nBA. It's quite perplexing and frankly ridiculous how easy he makes the offense look. Elite handles, great shooter, big size / strength, footwork, excellent vision, touch, coordination, creativity. It seems like he can do anything he wants on offense and all at his own pace. having said that, we still need a Wicky Wubio to relegate Harden to secondary ball handler.
You reach I teach Exactly. His elite handles at 6-5 with his size and strength? Great shooter, the vision....
The NBA tracks "Potential Assists" and they are defined as "Passes by a player to a teammate in which the teammate attempts a shot, and if made would be an assist.". Harden leads the NBA with 22.8 per game. Westbrook is 2nd with 18.5. Of course, if the player receiving the pass fumbles it away without getting a shot up then it's not included in this stat. stats.nba.com/tracking/#!/player/passing/?sort=POTENTIAL_AST&dir=1
great shooter I am not sure if he has already mastered 3pt shooting though - I give him good ranged shooter
I like how they ended with saying the rockets have not proved they want to play defense when this interview just came off a game where we held SAS to 39% fg and 99 points. He goes on to say we want to score to be 122 - 120 after a game which was 101 - 99 against an elite team. How much longer will this narrative continue? I guess we need to win a championship to shut them up.
Your point is seen, but we're ranked 26th in defensive efficiency even after that game. One game does not make a season.
Yes. Offense and defense ratings is points per 100 possessions. btw: our games play at an average Pace throughout the league. We can't be saying that the Rockets are at a high pace. We aren't. At least, not yet. Odd thing is though: It's the same pace as the MDA/Nash Suns. But that was back when the entire league was much slower. So, those Suns were indeed the fastest. So, true measure of high Pace is relative to the league, as tempo is defined by both teams on the court. Rockets games are average total possession -- both teams.
His game is amazing under the new scheme. Those drives are a thing of beauty, where the big man has to pick his poison. It's either going to be a floater or an alleyoop if he contends.
