He seems like a cool guy, but his politics have certainly contributed to Trump's rise.

    Thanks Obama

Do not think they had a full throttle war under him.

    that is always a plus.

On the Paris climate accords, Trump would be wise to forward that agreement to the US Senate for ratification as a treaty, which takes 67 votes. Needless to say, that will be the death of our involvement in that. But it would re-establish the balance of powers under the US Constitution for treaties that Obama undermined with the executive order he signed to get us into this. Alternatively, he can sign an executive order rescinding it, and that will end our involvement in it as well.

The Iran Nuclear deal is trickier, as it was structured to pay them off up front. The damage has been done on this and just cancelling this agreement will not just fix it. Someone needs to have a close look at this but hopefully there is something that can be done to reverse the Obama regime's handing of the nuclear keys to Iran, one of the world's leading sponsors of terrorism and a sworn mortal enemy to Israel. This is as likely a place for WWIII to start as anywhere on the globe, thanks in no small part to BHO.

Man...still cant believe the Republicans realized their wish of an all Republican political office with Trump at the top of the ticket...

Perhaps things may just get done.

He will go down as the most divisive President in modern history. He pushed the politics of division, black V. white, rich v. poor, etc.... He accomplished absolutely nothing except for ruining healthcare and putting Iran on the path to being a nuclear power.

Edit: I guess he can be credited for bringing ISIS to power with his poor handling of troop withdrawals from Iraq and the "Arab spring" .

He got millions more insured, civil rights took a step forward under Obama, he outlawed torture, etc. He also did a great job of sending Russia's economy into the tank and utilizing the strength of the U.S. for good in that regard. He also halted Iran's path towards nuclear weapons which is a huge accomplishment. He should also be remembered for rather than listening to and rewarding whistle-blowers but instead cracking down even harder on them.

Hopefully before he leaves, he'll put in some measures to Trump-Proof the nation like parents who baby-proof the house before the baby comes home. I have no idea how, but that would be a great legacy if he could do it.

That pretty much sums up Obama. Sells one thing, then does the other. I get the feeling he did believe in the things he said, but just didn't have the support, even from his own party.

You see the unemployment rate drop from when he came into office?

When the unemployment rate drops due to people dropping out of the workforce, it's not a positive thing.

The outcome last night, is the biggest black eye to Obama's legacy that could ever come. The GOP is now stronger than ever. Matt Lauer interviewed Obama last year, and asked him what Trump winning would say about his legacy, and Obama glibly said, "Ask me about that when that happens..." Well Mr. President...

It's bad thing when baby boomers are comfortable enough to retire?

That's not what is happening. Wages are stagnant and the only jobs being added are low paying, part time, or temporary. People are just not looking for work anymore in large numbers so technically they come off of the unemployment numbers....but it's not a good thing.

You really need to learn to look at more than one dataset. We have FEWER people working than when Obama entered office. Millions just "gave up" looking for a job.

demographically speaking if baby boomers were retiring then they'd get replaced by lower wage, less experienced workers, so that's just a side affect. 401ks are higher than ever so that incentivizes people to retire

Not saying that this was a full comprehensive "win" for Obama but considering the situation he came into office the fact that we are at this point economically is a success.

Baby boomers aren't retiring in droves. They've raised the Social Security age, and Americans continue to break records for working past the age of 65. There is no way to spin the job numbers in a positive light for Obama - because numbers don't lie. The number of people that have left the workforce since 2008, is staggering.

Labor participation is down nearly 3% since Obama took office in January 2009. From 65.7% to 62.8% as of October 2016.

Couldn't convince Americans to support any of his ideas (bad speaker) so forced things through by executive action instead of going through Congress. His legacy will be the stupidity of this approach as most can be undone with the swipe of a pen.

That and also the worst entitlement program ever in Obamacare. Oh and his failures in Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Libya, and Syria. Also being president over the 2010, 2014, and 2016 elections. Some of the most devastating for Democrats in history.
