This is ultimately why this country is becoming increasingly polarized. Both sides think the other are just r****ds.
People think 50% of an entire country are just morons.

Well thinking it is one thing, but things like tonight just prove it to everyone.

If Civil Rights followed laws then not much would have gotten done...

    And people protested Obama?

Oh yeah, that sure helps. You've been whining about name calling from the left for months now and you pull out that.

If they would have, then they'd have been called racists for it.

Like I said there will be no movement towards unity here. There will be 0 movement from the right to understand these angry people just like there was none on the left to understand those that voted for Trump.

When some of them hold up racists sign then yeah they will be called racists.

There is massive hypocrisy on both sides imo. Republicans who up till now were waging a campaign of obstructionism are suddenly confounded when the other party isn't uniting once they've won. Democrats who accused the Republicans of obstructing now doing the same themselves.

If 10k people showed up outside of Obama's home after he won the election they'd have been called racist for it even if they had no signs at all. It's just how it goes. You aren't allowed to protest certain people.

Instead they gave him a Nobel Prize just for getting elected.

I think there's a pretty big difference in protesting someone like Obama who ran on a very positive message regardless of what you thought of him politically and trump who ran on the most divisive and fearfully charged campaigns in recent memory. It isn't just "liberals" and dems that are embarrassed and troubled by this election... I know a boat load of conservatives and even long time republicans who openly derided trumps very nomination, forget presidency.

One would have to be obtuse to think that. Granted I'd venture to guess that trump got at least his fair share of left votes.

They would have been allowed to protest Obama, people did. So what if they were called racists, some of them by reading their signs...were. Quite clearly.

People made a big deal about how so many people were scared and angry when it came to Trump support and white voters well here we are again. And how their feelings need to be considered and blah blah blah

A bunch of minorities and LGBT people are now scared and angry. People can whine about the protest all night long that won't be changing overnight so people are just going to have to deal with that. You can wish them to go away all you want, just like liberals wished those Trump voters would just go away and be ignored again but it's not going away. Those people are going to remain that way unless Trump goes out of his way to appease them.

There were not thousands showing up outside his house simply due to him winning the election. Obama never faced that level of hate.

Now I know there's a lot of reasons to hate Trump, I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy.

Yes but to be fair Trump will be one of the most unfavorable presidents to be elected. This was bound to happen, I'm surprised it's so soon but i'm not surprised it actually happened.

Obama preached change, hope, and uniting the country throughout his initial campaign. That's not been the case for Trump. He has his rhetoric to blame for the vitriol he's going to see from huge chunks of the country. The least he and his supporters can do is attempt to listen to them. Not sure that will happen, no one listens to the other side any more.

LOL. You guys can keep trying to convince people to blame the DNC for Donald Trump's divisive campaign, his tweets, his ugly statements, and campaign promises, but it won't convince many people.

Protests intensifying right now in SF. It's so sad and pointless. Just a venting. I hope it stays peaceful nationwide.

What are the reasons to hate Trump? You keep saying he's terrible, but I don't recall if you have ever actually disagreed with anything he's said/done. I don't follow everything that is said in this forum, so I may have missed it.
