I feel like the country is going to have an oh **** moment, Kurtz moment. The horror! The horror!

Who knows what Donald is capable of? The iran nucular deal. I mean he could say we aren't giving you any more money, f nato, f everybody.

The sad fact is that middle America voted this guy in power, it wasn't just crazy people. I mean I feel like America is out on a ledge, do they really know what they are doing?

Yes we chose to play with fire but you know what, we just have to contain that fire at this point. There's an election in two years. Contain the damage and hope that you can make progress in 2 years to take one or both houses of congress.

Sometime you have to step into darkness to see light.

Don't get your hopes up. Nate Silver anticipated this reaction:

You can hope for the best, but gird yourself for the very real possibility that this is not just a 2-year phenomenon.

I say this every time there is a power outage or the lights go out unexpectedly.

My 2 cents... When Obama was voted in, there was the same gloom and doom concerns from the right. Sometimes our frustrations gets the better of us and we prophesize the worst (justified or not). I can only hope for the best and respect him as the appointed POTUS.

Oh of course. Really your best bet is winning state legislatures and holding out for 2020 redistricting. But beyond that, you have to fight the good fight. The Senate isn't totally out of the question in 2018 (although the map isn't very friendly). The House might be a different story but the point is to make incremental gains. Even holding the Senate alone can pretty much gum up everything (as the Republicans proved).

Not according to the right and that is my point. We all have our preconceived notions of what president X will do

You just lost the vote. Rather than asking whether people are crazy, you need to ask yourself whether you're in touch with reality.

This is true except the doom and gloom for Obama was racist secret Kenyan Muslim Communist Jade Helm destroy America stuff whereas the doom and gloom for Trump is based on Trump's own statements. So it's not the same even a little bit.

the reality being that America is as divisive as ever and that the majority of americans think very little of Trump. Check the exit polls, it's safe to say that people who didn't vote for Trump hated Trump, and most people who did vote for Trump don't like him either.

Those are just semantics. Does it really matter what level or degree of misinformation one party thinks? The bottom line is that it is human nature for most of us to feel salty after a loss. The GARM is full of these type of apocalyptic predictions during a Rockets loss
