I am sorry, what does any of that have to do with Trump, his past statements, and how we might expect him to govern? At some point you will have to take responsibility for the person you voted into office...

its so funny that now everyone is saying trump is going to be moderate, hes going loosen his immigration stance, not be as harsh on muslims, etc. LOL NOTHING he has said during his campaign leads to this assumption, dude is bat **** crazy.

The country is as divided as ever and the media all of a sudden is trying to paint this pretty picture.

I am sure these costs were going down for you before ACA. Oh wait, those costs were increasing before?

In all honesty, out of all of the politicians we have had in our lifetime, how many actually follow through with what they said they would do? Not very many.

Wasn't Trump supposed to be the opposite of a politician? An outsider? Someone who said what he meant? Now you're telling us it doesn't matter that he won't do what he promised?

I agree with you that we can't trust him, because as a candidate he by far told the most lies in modern history, and that's demonstrable.

They weren't going up like this before ACA. I think if you are saying that the premium increases I've seen are natural and have nothing to do with ACA, then I don't believe you. Feel free to believe otherwise.

So the final tally has the Democrats picking up 2 seats in the Senate and the Republican lead is down to 52-48. Man I remember someone giving me all kinds of flack VERY recently for suggesting that +3 was more likely than +4 and it ends up +2. Crazy.

Well, building that wall means a lot of work available for the people they're trying to keep out. Government tenders mean the least costly option. Contractors make their money by employing the cheapest labor available which means...

I do wonder how that will affect his base. The one thing that did get Trumpers upset was when he seemed like for a moment that he was going to soften his stance on Immigration.

What happens when he doesn't deport millions of mexicans? What happens when the wall he promised isn't built? What happens if he reaches across the aisle and tries to 'Unite' the country by doing so?

You're giving his following too much credit. Look he split the union household vote in Ohio. He won CD-8 here in Minnesota by 15 points which is really impressive (Obama won it by 4 points in 2012) That's a crazy feat. Normally a Democrat will win that demographic by 20 points. And to his credit, not once did Trump invoke right to work laws, union busting, or any other standard Republican positions. He really did a fantastic job of selling himself as the candidate for the midwestern white working class.

But that group of voters isn't the same as Southern Republican working class voters. They are not lock and step Republicans so this is an opportunity for Republicans to win over a new set of voters but it requires them to position policy choices correctly.

At some point, you have to stop crying. You supported a shittier candidate than Trump. I'm a Republican that did not vote for Trump. Having said that, I was pretty certain he'd take Texas.

Democrats will likely run Karl Marx against Trump in 2020. Huge swing to the left for the Democrats incoming.

Republicans have only won the popular vote in a Presidential election once in the last 28 years. That is astounding.

Clinton concession speech is the most human she has ever been in public. Too little too late.. looks like she is holding back tears.

I think the tide will change swiftly, I think the younger generations lean more to the left if only for the environment and social issues.

I'm pretty confident that Elizabeth Warren will be the next Democratic nominee in 2020. She's very progressive and populist like Sanders and she's a woman so all the people that are angry that Clinton lost will maybe see in her what they didn't in Clinton.

No, I am sure cost increases are anything but natural. The insurance company profit growth leading up to and through the time of ACA should be looked at. And I am sure ACA may have increased costs as well for some, but ACA also reduced costs for others and more important, provided access to many many others. Personally, ACA was a huge benefit to me and my family, ensure access for my oldest daughter with a pre-existing condition. So while folks are concerned about $10 or even $20 a month increases... I worry more about having to go back to a separate $500/month policy for my daughter through the Texas High Risk Pool should ACA end. Sorry if I don't seem very sympathetic to a $10-20/month increase...

I want you guys to take a minute to consider a hypothetical.

Let's say these results were flipped.

How do you think last night and this morning would have gone down?

I simply cannot see Trump or the alt-right being such gracious losers.

Oh, I have already come to grips that America has elected Donald Trump. While I don't like it, I fully support our American democratic form of government. And as such hope for Trump's success.

While you may think Clinton was "shittier", you don't see most Clinton supporters distancing themselves from their candidate as you see Republicans attempting to distance themselves from Trump. Amazing he won with all the republicans here not voting for him...
