I should remind you this is not my party. I voted Bernie in the primaries and Johnson in the general. I just so happen to think Hillary is the worst candidate of all of them. I hope they both parties get their heads out of their asses.
I understand that not everyone that voted for Trump is an idiot. I also understand why some educated people, like you, would have voted for Trump because of a tiredness of the status quo. I work with physicians that feel the same way. I work with many other well educated people that feel the same way. I just don't feel that Trump won this election based off that vote. Yes, I realize it's fairly ignorant of me, as I am seemingly not counting votes equally. What I fear is that it's the Americans that are closet racists - the Americans that voted for Trump out of malice towards others, which, you've got to admit, was a large part of Trump's campaign - that got Trump elected. I have a true fear that he will ruin this country, in one way or another, in four years. That's why I was okay with the status quo. Especially if Congress was going to be red. I'm not trying to talk down on character of anyone voting for Trump, though it may be taken that way. I just have a deep fear, that I believe is perfectly rational, that Trump has awakened a darker side of America with his campaign. A darker side that may set this country back by 50+ years.
Fair enough. I'm accepting Trump as the president. I just think it's really lame to go around blaming democrats for it. Yes they nominated Clinton (as I said, I was a Bernie supporter) at the same time they had nothing to do with who the GOP nominated. It's crazy, it's like punching someone in the face and then blaming them for having such a stupid face.
"LOL" Trump, Cruz, Rubio vs Clinton, Biden. Why do these parties keep dragging up terrible candidates??? Why didn't Romney run again???
Isn't today of all days the time to stop this age old back and forth that's meant for bought politicians rather than real people? They are going to blame problems on their predecessor and clam the victories for themselves. That's how Bush and Obama did it, that's how Hillary and Trump would do it. There's no material distinction except that the Republicans do it a little more.
What revisionism are you claiming. I am upfront saying I supported and voted for Clinton. You and many of your fellow republicans can't admit you voted for Trump. I guess its embarrassing. But own it, he is President for four years. Also telling you try to play both sides with respect to the loss of checks and balances. Sure, he will end ACA, taking away affordable health care insurance from millions in the process. But once he "accomplishes" that, what then? You will somehow rail against republicans controlling all three parts of our government? Yea, right, excuse me if I think you are disingenuous. Elections have consequences. Own responsibility for your votes.
And we should hope for the best. Americans have spoken, and we wanted change. Just like the way Obama was voted in. I'm optimistic that he'll hire a staff based on their merits, rather than the cronyism I think everyone is fed up with. But, yes, if he does poorly over the next four years, I see the Republicans even nominating someone new. That said, I'm really hoping he can clean some of the mess that is our Government and make it less corrupt.
At least Trump won't be a corrupt politician and he can relate to the common man struggling to live on his paycheck. Way too send a message to those out of touch elites by electing a tax-dodging billionaire, America!
Everbody calm your t***. While there might be some policy changes it won't be so dramatic as you scare mongering folks are crying about. This country practically runs itself, no one person including the POTUS has that much influence.
I did a protest vote for Johnson in Pa. Wish I had voted for Hillary. Not that it would mean much at this point. I'm just as shocked at everyone else that Trump is pulling this out. I thought a protest vote would be perfectly safe.
Welp. Time to eat crow from friends/family. My fiancée is asleep. I'm drunk and it's time to watch p*rn on the couch on go to sleep and wake up and go back to life. I'll be back in the D&D in 3 years to talk trash.
I'm not talking abotu blaming the past on one party or another...but people are seriously saying "This is the Democrats fault, if they were better then we wouldn't have nominated Trump." It's like the Warriors blaming the Sixers for getting Durant. "Well...blame the Sixers and other bad teams, if they weren't so bad then maybe they could have gotten Durant." I want the GOP fans and members to own up to it. This is your guy. This is your win. Own up to it, be happy about it.
Naw. It was never safe. Between possible unprecedented turnout and legitimate voter suppression efforts, ever vote was needed.
