I don't think it's just nationalism either. Politicians are just so out of touch these days with ordinary people. I think social issues are far less important when you fear losing your job in manufacturing or to some illegal. Maybe ordinary people who do not usually pay attention to politics can relate to Trump better than someone as high up as Hillary. I also think a lot of people are fighting back at the progressiveness of every aspect of life, especially in the media. Maybe that's why the polls and data are so messed up, people are ashamed to admit they support Trump, but they secretly do believe in his stance on certain things.
Not a super majority, so there is still check and balance. Plus you have the Court. The good news (hey, I always look for them ) is GOP will have majority power and with that, you can't just not govern. I think you'll see a reaction in 2 and 4 years if Trump and Congress doesn't deliver. You also have the 2020 redistricting coming up and if history follow, the other party will gain in Congress and could get an advantage there.
Is it at all possible that Trump said all that crap just to win but doesn't go through with what he said?
In 4 years some of them will still be blaming Democrats for the Trump presidency, just watch. "Well if only you didn't nominate Clinton! You could have nominated someone better!" Well if only you could have nominated anyone else.
So, I'm 29. Here's my 20 year plan: 5-10 years from now: Reality TV star. 10-15 years from now: start putting my name on every possible product. 20 years from now: become President at 49. See you suckers in 20 years. B-bob, you'll be the head of the 20 year old Department of Old Wise Men. EddieWasn'tSnubbed 2036.
As a single white male I am not negatively impacted by this election of Trump but I do feel for minorities, women and the lower income bracket in the future ahead. For those with a good savings account, the next four years could prove lucrative given how the stock market has responded to the news.
Well it only seems fair, Obama was still blaming Bush for everything wrong in his administration up to this year.
Well you better hope so. I know with the Justices going WAAAY right though more may happen then you suspect. If Clinton was in there she would at least try to find more moderate Justices with a GOP senate. Now though? That's a big concern for a lot of people.
I imagine this presidency will lead to record ratings for SNL, little policy, and trump will probably start a weekly Hugo Chavez type show. Then in 4 years we will get another president.
You are wrong. He would have absolutely crushed Sanders. He would be railing against Communism 24/7 and claiming Bernie would seize people's assets.
