We all saw what happened to Amare Stauamire after he left the Suns, and we see now James Harden is playing more like Steve Nash with the high assist numbers. Capela looks good, but I can only imagine if he had the mid range jumper like Amare. There are many things Nash did well (like get the ball up in under 7 seconds), but Harden is doing well in his own rendition of the Suns offense.

I think he does sure, what i think he helps with most is players value. I think capela, kj, dekkar etc... Even so with veterans like ego ryno ariza etc...

We could acquire higher end players and draft picks via trade by an inflated system. This in theory should attract fringe players trying to boost their stock in free agency as well.

Honestly it's helped harden the most, and his perception and success is our biggest recruiter and in that respect mda is helping a lot

Like @BigMaloe says, the key is how it affects Harden's growth as a player.

inb4 people say we wasted all our caproom.

that's kind of the reason why I wanted rudy gay during the summer him trying to boost up his value for his last big contract in this fast pace offense sheshhh

Honestly I'm for adding gay also, and kinda have been because his expiring (player option ) contract. I could still see us acquiring gay.

Harden and his assists are going to make players come. The narrative changing about him being selfish will do more than anything else

I don't think a coach can have that much effect, teammates will matter more

That said, I've been impressed with the job he's done.

I don't know, does this picture make this guy look like a badass?

But if you're trying to be serious, yes. However, I'm not sure that we'll get any free agents right now and if our record isn't attractive, we're not attractive. The real question should be: how much will our team improve under MDA? It's the only thing that matters when it boils down during the offseason.

Neither yes or no... it's net-zero.

Free agents are attracted by offense, but suspect chance for championships or real success keeps them away.

You got to look at it from a stars perspective.

Your can't get to the Cavs, warriors, clippers or Spurs there capped out and have stars already there.

The thunder have no money now to spend and TBH im willing to bet every star would rather play with harden over Westbrook.

So if the rockets win 45-50 games than any major star would have houston as there number one choice imo. A cousins would put us over the top imo.

I'll say 'no', but it's a bit more complicated than a one word answer.

If the team hits 50 wins, then we've done so with a high octane offence and Harden is probably MVP on the back of a 30-10-7 season. A marquee free agent knows if they come here they get stats because there are so many possessions, so worst case is they come to a 50 win team and make a positive difference AND get their numbers. However, that's not so much due to MDA's force of personality - AND it is seriously debatable as to whether his style gets us to 50 wins, or it just lets Harden shine enough to get us there.

So I think I'll say 'no' to MDA being attractive, and 'yes' to playing next to Harden (even if we only just manage to surpass 40 wins, it'll be tempting to play with a guy who looks like going 30-10-7!) - but then again it is MDAs fast pace which has allowed Harden to do so.... (not that the free agents care so much about that) - AND it might well be that whomever we have as coach is a high pace guy anyway.

    1) I think it's a combination of seeing Harden as a way more willing passer than someone like Westbrook

    AND

    2) Seeing players look better than expected in our offense

AND, what would REALLY seal the deal is

    3) If we end this season showing that we are capable of playing the best defense we can play, designed by a very good defensive coach.

    How so?

We did not get the Phoenix MDA, we got the Lakers and NYKnickerbocker Pringles one.....admittedly with mustache shaved off

It is more redemption for him than he'd like.

I think it helps having him. However, I think it would help even more if we could have the Phoenix Suns team doctor and the Phoenix water piped to HTown. Those would be great recruiting tools.

The way other teams are stacked, we need to attract a high level all star like Davis, or George to be a legit championship contender.
