He has been failed by the organization giving him over-rated, unathletic fake tough guys like JJ Fatt as leader. He can only do so much when Texans leader is a fraud

The General's mid-season report card QB: C- Brock Osweiler has been inconsistent, terrible at times, especially on the road. But he’s taken every snap for a 5-3 team that doesn’t dominate in any area. His 73.1 rating ranks 30th, ahead of only San Francisco’s Blaine Gabbert and Colin Kaepernick. Interceptions have been his biggest problem. RB: B Lamar Miller is fourth in the NFL with 639 yards rushing, putting him on a pace for 1,274. He’s played the last two games with a banged-up shoulder, so the two weeks off will be good for him. Alfred Blue is running better than any time in his career, coming off the bench for 202 yards and a 5.2-yard average per carry. WR: C- DeAndre Hopkins is the only receiver with any experience, but he’s been limited to 40 catches for 434 yards and three touchdowns because the passing game has struggled in Brock Osweiler’s first season. Rookie Will Fuller started fast and hit a wall. He’s dropped too many passes. Injuries and inexperience have hurt this position. TE: B This is the biggest surprise on offense considering how little tight ends were utilized in the past. Brock Osweiler loves to throw to his tight ends. In his third season, C.J. Fiedorowicz has 26 catches for 279 yards and three touchdowns. Ryan Griffin has added 24 for 214. OL: C- Duane Brown’s return to left tackle has helped this group immensely. Injuries had a profound effect on the line early in the season, but the linemen have played better over the last three games, averaging 135.3 yards a game rushing. Losing right tackle Derek Newton hurt, and the right side of Chris Clark and Jeff Allen must play better. DL: B- The only linemen on the roster who have a sack over the first half of the season are Jadeveon Clowney with three and Antonio Smith with one-half. They’ve struggled against the run, too, and yet the defense is ranked fifth. Losing J.J. Watt hurt bad, of course, but, somehow, the linemen have played their best when they’ve had to. LB: B Whitney Mercilus (4½), Benardrick McKinney (three) and John Simon (2½) have combined for 10 of the team’s 17 sacks. That’s what they are supposed to do in a 3-4 scheme. McKinney leads the team in tackles. Brian Cushing is coming on after missing time with a knee injury. Simon has been solid. They have to make more big plays over the second half. Secondary: A- This has been the biggest surprise on the team, especially considering injuries to cornerback Kareem Jackson, cornerback Kevin Johnson and safety Quintin Demps. Cornerback A.J. Bouye has been outstanding. Jackson is back. Demps should be after the bye. They need more big plays from safety Andre Hal. Overall, they’ve been terrific. Special teams: B- Shane Lechler has a 48.4-yard gross and a 39.5 net with only one touchback. He’s put 15 inside the 20. Nick Novak has connected on 18-of-21 field goals. He’s missed only once inside the 50. Tyler Ervin is getting better as a returner. Punt coverage must improve. Kickoff coverage has been sound. Coaching: B- The Texans have been blown out on the road. They’ve struggled on offense. They haven’t made big plays on defense or in the return game, and yet Bill O’Brien and his assistants have coached them to a 5-3 record, two games better than their first two seasons. Overall: B- The Texans are undefeated (5-0) at home and winless (0-3) on the road. They lead the NFL’s worst division by one game over Tennessee. They’ve outscored opponents by an average of 23-16 at home, and they’ve been outscored 28-7 on the road. They’re 29th in offense, including tied for 10th in rushing and 30 in passing. They’re fifth in defense, including 29th against the run and second against the pass.
