He's not a good shooter. He might not ever be a good shooter, but that doesn't mean he can't be a good backup point guard. I continue to believe that he is going to be a good role player for this team and that he brings value in his ability to run an offense. I also think that people forget just how young he is because he has already been in the league for a few years. Once Beverly gets back, you probably won't see Ennis much, but I think he'll get better as he has more time to practice and get used to the system. You have to remember that the guy has only been here for a little over a month or so and he got thrown into the rotation pretty quickly. Give him a little more time before you label him, he might surprise you.
I like Ennis's pass-first "traditional" point guard APPROACH. But I do not like his DEMEANOR and temperament with it. Its what I remember long ago member @leebigez saying about Patrick Patterson, that he's a "back seat" kind of player. Seems a bit too hesitant and bland to WANT to break out. He shouldn't let the game "come to him". He should duck his head down Leandro Barbosa style and go make plays in MDA's system. Or have a purpose in mind to run pick & roll, what he's supposedly good at.
Why doesn't anyone want to see Bobby Brown play if Ennis stinks so bad? At least he can create his own shot. Honestly I'd rather see what he can do 10 mins a game.
https://insider.espn.com/nba/hollinger/statistics/_/order/false I was just looking for Harden's PER and misclicked, Turns out Ennis has the second lowest PER so far. I don't even know how he can get -4.27 in PER. It's ridiculously bad.
People want to kill Ennis over mistakes... But y'all forget about Clints butterfingers as a rookie? Trez had his issues too.. Hell, Dekker just kissed the floor out of anxiety ...but Ennis is a lost cause? He had a terrible first game, but has settled down since..
Tyler Ennis plays like he knows he sucks but is trying desperately to disguise from everyone else that he sucks. So he just does nothing really, dribbling around and only attempting a shot or pass when the defense makes a mistake. He's not good enough to create anything.
he's honestly not that bad guys.... he's got good basketball IQ.. I think he just needs to settle down and work on his shot. confidence will come after that.
ennis doesnt pull the trigger on the first pass. ive seen him look away from gordon's direction too many times or would not even try to get him the ball. this will go on for consecutive possessions. i just believe that his timing and reads are off with gordon, and this is a no-no for this team because the second unit must have the ball in eric's hands most of the time.
Ennis can't be traded until November 22. One day before the unofficial D-Mo deadline. The clock is ticking on Ennis.
