ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Hawks 11/5/2016 (HARDEN vs. HOWARD)

The problem is this lineup has nowhere to go. We are going to win 42 games and then what. More of the same next year. There is almost no potential growth here. So while it's new and different, where's it going.

 

The Rockets are basically going to spank any mediocre or worse defensive team this season with their offensive firepower. That alone will earn them about 30-35 wins. What the team does against the better defensive teams will determine their playoff seed and whether or not they can get to 50 wins. Atlanta is one of the better defensive teams and they not surprisingly lost to them on the road. Not really a huge deal, especially if they rebound and beat the Wizards. At some point they need to start surprising folks and winning some of these games if they have any hope at getting a top 4 seed.

 

It's as if some have forgotten our best defensive player is currently out. Games such as this shouldn't be shocking w/out Bev in the lineup - with our current roster construction, he's vital to success.

I know we all like to make jokes about Mchale and his play harder crap but sometimes that's really all there is to it . Tonight was one of those nights. I actually thought the players would listen to MDA though so if he even talked about them defending and playing harder during the game and they tuned him out well that's a shame .

 

No excuse, but the NBA really screwed us with 14 of the first 20 games being road games. This team is having to gel and learn a new system while facing opponents on their turf.

 

The real suckas are those who watched the whole game. I watched the first Q and a bit of the 2nd and turned this b**** off. I knew the outcome

You make it sound so black and White, when it's simply not. He could have made trades too but didn't (oh wait... Beasley for Ennis). Give me Glen Robinson III over this trash, he's not great but he can shoot the ball. What about our selections in the draft this year? So many abysmal short comings.

Everyone here understands that sometimes certain players just aren't interested: but are you telling me he did a satisfactory job? He sure as hell didn't.

There's a difference between not being able to sign star players and not being able to tell what type of role players you need in order to have a complete team. Being turned down by stars who didnt want to sign here does not absolve Morey of any guilt. Again Brewers still on this team for god sake and he's gotten rid of other players. This is on him.

 

This game was soooooooo tough to watch. That's all I got.

 

Nene is garbage, he is at most a 3rd or 4th big, just too old, no explosion, no rebounding, no threat in the paint, just flat out too old to be a serious rotation player.
