ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Hawks 11/5/2016 (HARDEN vs. HOWARD)

MDA cant do much with players who suck. We always blame Harden and the coach. Our role players suck and thats on Morey. A blind man could see that Brewer sucks a year ago, why on earth is he still here?

 

Morey didn't want MDA or to waste cap space or Gordon or Anderson.

I'll take on Chandler if they send over a Knight/Warren/Bledsoe as well

 

Losing to hawks is depressing

 

Harden didn't have a single point or an assist in the 4th quarter!

 

He is probably our best 1 on 1 defender at this point . He is a bit prone towards picking up fouls but he is improving .

We are sort of rebuilding . If you straight up trade Clint for deandre Jordan or Andre Drummond are we contenders ? Probably not .

We need another star to be contenders . In that respect Clint is probably our best trade chip , but we also would then have a hole with no internal fix .

Clint ain't a superstar but with how bad nene is playing right now , he and Ryan are our only NBA rotation caliber bugs . Montrezl , Dekker , etc are all too unproven and would get exposed far more .

D'antoni ****ed this game up by playing nene too much , by playing Brewer at all , by thinking Bobby brown was a good idea , and by not playing Clint and Ryan together for a longer time period .

 

Then Morey should quit, because he's no longer allowed to do what he wants to do (when it comes to the coach)? And LOL, don't try to tell me he's not responsible for this abomination of a roster (yet again). That is ALL on him

They have our number like we own the Knicks.

 

Ariza is so inconsistent both defense and offense... after that fluke game vs. Dallas he's no where to be found.

 

Yes, we didn't play particularly well, but a couple of BIG stats of note:
Atlanta - 35 pts off of Rox Turnovers
Rockets 26 fouls vs Atl 13
Hard overcome both of those numbers regardless how well you play defense

 

Yeh... I thought we actually played the Cavs pretty well, and underestimated LA. The Cavs did not seem to be cruising, they just beat us down the stretch with big shots. other than that if a couple of shots fall differently we could've won in Cleveland, definitely.

This is my first real disappointment of the season (altho yes, the Lakers loss sucked. Then they beat GS), but less about the L and more with it looking like the infuriatingly stupid form of bball from last season...being played by our team for the full 48min.

 

We need another shooter in Brewer's position. He;s killing us out there.

I mean the roster is flawed, but it wouldn't be so bad if Bev and DMo were playing.

But until we get them or Morey trades/signs someone else, MDA has GOT to do a better job with his rotations. I thought he was the 9 man rotation guru? As of right now, only the following players should get ANY minutes barring fouls or injuries:

Harden/Gordon
Gordon/KJ
Ariza/KJ
Anderson/Harrell
Clint/Nene

While Dekker brings a little something sometimes, he doesn't often enough to get into the rotation regularly to me, but he should be the next person up due to foul trouble of any of the above.

Harrell can't play the 5, it's not going to work. He can shoot a decent 3 if left completely open, and have a decent mid range shoot like near the free throw line. But trying to play him at Center (unless both Clint and Nene have fouled out) is getting us killed. Our rebounding would be so much better if he played WITH Clint or Nene.

And just stop with Anus or My Prerogative at the PG. Only in a blow out, due to injuries, or Harden or Gordon are in serious foul trouble.

MDA has to find a unit that can start the 2nd and 4th quarters that can play together Defensively and Offensively. I think they should start those quarters first the first 5 minutes with:

Gordon
KJ
Ariza
Harrell
Nene

Harden is gonna have to play 38 minutes for us to win games. 12 minutes first and 3rd quarters, and then coming in with about 7 minutes left in the 3nd and 4th quarters....19 minutes a half. Some games he might have to play 40 minutes by coming in even earlier in the 4th...if we want to win games.

 

Not really, they're not a bad team. This is one of those few times where I truly believe we just beat ourselves.

We needed a Rudy Gay trade like 3 weeks ago. I wasn't influenced by that one game Ariza had against Dallas. I watch him closely and he is not a starter on a high seed playoff team anymore. But a damn good backup if put in that role.
