He is- he's an internet tough guy who's a deep-down p***y. I have a problem, as well, with people disrupting Trump rallies to protest. You wanna protest? Do it outside the building and don't disrespect the many decent people who are, for whatever reason, voting for Trump. Go to a Clinton rally and support her- leave Trump people alone. It was like when Trump had the rally at the Woodlands. People protesting outside? Fine. But don't call Trump supporters racists- terrible way to stereotype. One or two protesters were yelling at Trump supporters, and I was embarrassed for them. Same with Trump supporters selling "Trump That b****" t-shirts. Whatever happened to manners?? Geez.
You see, this person with the F**K Trump sign at the Trump Rally (Woodland, 6/2016) is just as bad. No need for that type of rhetoric.
Ah, we're all going to miss these days. The people at The Woodlands at least conducted themselves fairly decently.
Consider also that some Republicans are planning to keep a Supreme Court seat vacant indefinitely, with eight justices, flouting the constitutional right of the president to appoint justices, disfiguring the judicial branch too. Some Republicans are already talking about impeaching Clinton. The respect for the whole institution of the presidency is weakening. We as a country should pick a leader and hold onto our hats and just try to survive in this world, rather than endlessly obstructing and detracting. We need to be on top of our game to keep what we've achieved. In another thread I wrote we have the oldest government in the world. I'm proud of that. But I worry that we are letting it fall apart, by our indifference. We're not engaged. On cable news they asked "How could we have got two such bad candidates?" By our consent: that's how. It's us. We are indifferent to the government. Cuss it is much as you want, but I'm starting to wonder what life would be like if our government failed. It's pretty scary.
I know it's never good when I have to teach people about the government, but you do know that keeping the seat vacant is the default position right? This government is set up to where when there isn't agreement, things don't happen.....and it's set up that way for a reason. Now sure, when it comes specifically to SCOTUS justices you can do a recess appointment and that's probably what would happen, but my larger point is that when things are as divided as they became under Obama, it's supposed to grind everything to a halt. That's why you need someone whose first priority is to bring people together and govern by consensus. It's not as fun as being a king just telling people what to do and having your will be done, but that's the way we set things up. What everyone needs to realize is that nothing is supposed to be getting done when the sides are this far apart. Basically everyone is waiting for a leader to bring people together in order to end the deadlock, Obama simply wasn't that person. He completely lacked the leadership qualities necessary to accomplish that. Both Trump and Hillary also lack those leadership qualities so we're looking at another 4 years of deadlock unless Hillary wins the house and senate as well, then she'll get 2 years of enforcing her will on the public before the midterms take that away. Hopefully both parties learn their lesson from this year and nominate legitimate candidates next time around.
Actually, she has worked successfully with Republicans before on many occasions. Prior to this whole email thing, she actually earned a great deal of respect from many Republicans. McConnell, McCain, etc. were all very complimentary of her. I'd say she's actually much more likely to work effectively with Republicans. That was one of the areas in which Obama was not as successful.
I agree with your sentiment. He should have just stayed at home if he does not want to listen to Obama.
We don't have royalty in this country . Nobody is above anyone else. If you want that go somewhere else.
See that's where you are wrong. Smarter people are above dumber people, civil people are above the boorish, thinking people are above gut reactors, egalitarians are above racist and misogynist, kind people are above rude people, selfless people are above selfish people. That's the American way; the other way is chaos, conflict and a regression from civilization and progress.
To be fair, "they" did make a movie, while he was in office, about assassinating him. Separately, since armed and unarmed coups and recall votes are impossible in this country, personal disparagement is some of the only recourse private citizens have over four years.
What a crappy idea. It has nothing to do with royalty. If going by your idea, then we shouldn't respect anyone in authority. Police officers, teachers, church leaders... **** em all, right? It's one thing to disagree with Obama, but "f**k him"? On my worst day, I would never think to say that towards Bush, or even Trump. I guess other people see it differently.
you shouldn't respect anyone just because they are in authority. no. respect people for other reasons. getting elected president does not get you my respect. The argument i was responding to was somebody claiming we should respect someone just because they are president. which is ****ing moronic. thats how you treat royalty. we dont do that here.
Folks, this is how you win the gold medal in mental gymnastics for finding a way to blame a Democratic president for a Republican Senate refusing to even consider his Supreme Court nominee. The poor Republican Senate is just sitting around waiting for a true leader to take the helm so that they can finally make a confirmation, just LOL.
This was a great moment for the President. To quiet his own supporters and stand up for an elderly heckler. Compare that to what Trump said about a heckler at one of his rallies.
The difference between the dems and repugs is that the dems can at least think and have some insight to their actions. Never seen a trumper critique their candidate or the mountain of bad behavior.
lolz there is a whole group of republicans called #nevertrump. many think its costing him the election
