Well....they dicked him around for playing time early in his career so badly that he had to ask to go down to the D league several times just to get playing time in order to stay ready to play.....then he got further dicked around for playing time with that moron JBB as head coach, and then they tried to trade him. Then they had the new head coach come talk to him and tell him how he wanted to use him as the top PF......just before wasting 20 mil a year on Ryan Anderson. Now he's getting low balled compared to what other FA big men are getting this offseason while only giving him offers that they can trade or cut almost immediately. What has this organization done to make him think he can trust them?

I mean, no player should truly trust their team anyway, but when that's your history with a team....you'd be an idiot to trust them.

Wonder how much he wants to get past that Nov 16th deadline. It's affectively a no-trade clause for one year.

Rockets appear to want the flexiblity to trade him at the Trade Deadline. He probably doesn't.

It might be a bluff by Morey to take the offer off the table (or go down?) or it could be real and DMo is screwed.

    After DMo makes his decision
He needs to fire his agent.

Trade Brewer for a scrub on a one year deal. Cut said scrub.

Honestly D-Mo is lucky they are even sticking to that offer... which looks to be the Corey Brewer/ Trevor Ariza role player contract. The Rockets, assuming they want him back, only really have to beat the best offer he will get in Europe. D-Mo doesn't want to go back to Europe trust me.

What a terrible, terrible job here by BJ Armstong. The Rockets did D-Mo a solid by starting him last season enough times to qualify for starter criteria. The Rockets are giving him an offer when NO OTHER NBA TEAM is giving him an offer. The Rockets didn't have to go today to "ramp up their offer". If BJ sends D-Mo overseas and turns down this offer (assuming nobody offers him a better one), he should never work in professional sports again.

Cutting Brewer seems unlikely given the lack of depth at the wing spots. Probably important to watch these next few games between Tyler Ennis and Bobby Brown. If you see one of those guys really earn that spot over the other guy then I think that's where the cut comes from. Especially with Beverley coming back in a few weeks. Wiltjer could very well be Anderson insurance in the second half of the season if he gets injured. I see him being the Troy Daniels of 2017 for this team. If you can knock down 3's you'll have a spot on this team.

Yeah, around 8 mill has been the number for awhile.

The bigger issue is that he's wasted so much time which could have been used getting familiar with the new offense and defense (do we play defense?).

I'm concerned about DMo's ability to join the team and readiness to play, both on a physical and mental level.

Motiejunas was looking bad last year and back injuries are pretty persistent. As much as I loved him 2 years ago, I think it's just time to move on. If we bring him back though, I hope Bobby is cut and not Wiltjer.

In fairness, after Nov 16th, DMo can no longer be traded. Maybe that was a huge date for him, and he told BJ he wants to play for MDA over a little more cash.

That strategy is betting on himself....thinking he'd be more valuable after showcasing his talents in MDA's boat.

Problem is, will Morey drop his offer after the threat of an "unofficial deadline"

We've seen Morey play the "deadline" game before. So, no surprise we are doing it again.

Morey should offer a 2/$20 million dollar deal and be done with it, final offer, fully guaranteed. DMo would be stupid to reject it.

So, a SnT is off the table for us? Too bad, that would have been a better option for the Rockets.

Some other team should offer a 2yr/$20 million dollar deal and be done with it, final offer, fully guaranteed. DMo would be stupid to reject it, and Morey is $3m away.

Doesn't quite sound the same that way....does it...something seems wrong about that statement. I wonder what it could be.

Hey @heypartner, I just noticed that Nov 23rd, the Rockets play Toronto in Houston. They can do the DMo/Ross trade right then. :D

Wouldn't it be funny if another team just came out of the woodworks and offered him more?

Man, just two short years ago, D-Mo was probably our 2nd best player. I don't think we owe him anything, but it seems like both sides are failing to see the forest through the trees here. A few extra million or an extra year guaranteed, and we potentially have a VERY mutually beneficial situation. Team has a guy with potential to well out-perform his contract, guy has a team/coach who can make him look his very best.

Just think about how the perceptions of Trez, KJ, and Dekker have exploded in these parts (and nationally) over the last few weeks. The D'Antoni effect is real, and D-Mo needs to start drinking that Kool-Aid.
