    Morey is like:

I'm offering Ricky, Bubbles and anyone you want.

    Philly:

We want the full package. Ricky, Julian and Bubbles. It doesn't work unless you have all three.

    Then Morey is all like:

We'll give you J to the R, O, C? Superintendent Lahey? The Roc Pile? Tell me when I'm getting warmer. Would you want maybe Barbara Lahey? The creator John Dunsworth? We could probably spare Corey, but Trevor is no longer on the team. (not a rox reference) Randy Bobandy takes up a lot of space in the middle, take him? Sam Losco is a caveman but he'll play ball, how about him? Want some liquor, we could drink until you become the liquor. Kitties, everyone loves kitties. Name you number and we'll give you all the kitties you want. White liquor, that stuff will keep you going for a long time??? ...Officer George Green and Lucy hook up pretty well, why not them? Did you know that Sarah is Lahey's real life daughter, how about her?

See, if you don't know who all these folks are you just quit reading, but the Sixers watch TPB as much as the Canadian locals so they're biting on all this crap even though they want Ricky, Bubbles and Julian. Competitor starts talking to other people and the match is broken, no wins or maybe the cockblocker wins, but the competitor goes away.

    Philly:

Can we talk about Ricky, Julian and Bubbles please?

    Morey:

    We could give you Ray...

How attainable is the very attainable Aaron Gordon?

No. He won't. Acquiring Okafor would be all about flipping him to another team for a player we really want.

Bill Simmons is a mad Celtics fan. He wants Noel in Boston. Noel wants to go to Boston too. It's his home. Simmons knows Morey is tracking on Noel. He knows MDA loves Noel. So Simmons is simply throwing shade with this talk about us acquiring Okafor. Because if we did acquire Okafor using Capela and other assets to Philly, that puts the Celts in optimal position to acquire Noel on the cheap. Philly will have a "replacement" for Noel in Capela and Boston gets their man (Noel) while giving up one of their lesser perimeter players and other lesser assets.

Simmons is also close enough to the Celts people that he knows stuff and he has major inside contacts throughout the league. He's cool with the players, at least most of them. They like him. And he's analytic. So he sees and evaluates players and the fans in a similar fashionto Morey.

You can believe on our end that we are talking to Philly about both guys. But we want Noel. The only way we would acquire Okafor is if we had another team lined up to drop Okafor off to.

But we can feign we are interested in Okafor and talk about this possible deal and that possible deal for Okafor that causes Philly to pause at least for some period of time in hopes that they can move Okafor out and then take their time with Noel, maybe even pushing his conclusion out to restricted free agency next summer in hopes of either keeping him on a cheap deal or signing-and-trading him in a deal that yields then a higher return than what is being offered to them currently.

Cat and mouse game here. Both Morey and Ainge are after Noel. And they'd like to get him cheap so they're being deceptive in their trade talks, which is common. Philly wants to move Okafor and keep Noel. Noel wants Boston. Philly is trying to generate a bidding war for Okafor (fail). In lieu of that (probably won't happen) they want to generate a bidding war for Noel.

As for Simmons, he knows all this, he wants Noel in Boston, so he's going to hype Okafor to Houston for Capela and assets. That's his BS. And round and round they go.

Hey is it Christmas time yet?

I'd much rather see how attainable Hezonja is.

So your cockblocking method before is now a bait and switch for the other side? Pick something, man! You know I have zero against you, so this is a raz, but you gotta pick something. Not that both couldn't possibly be right, but seriously..

You are totally Hillary/Trump-ing this forum. What's it gonna be? Both get elected?

Logic fail. What Simmons says as a trade proposal in a podcast is of no consequence to what the FOs do.

been watching the magic lately because of aaron they have a crowded roster in term of pf/sf (Ibaka and Green) get most of time at 4s and gordon has been demoted 3s position sharing time with Henzonja and rudez.

I feel Magic will not make to playoffs and will likely ship out young talents for a veteran presence.

I dont know if the salary matches but Il trade any of FF Ariza/Bev/RAnderson/Dmo and right sergio/draft picks for Aaron Gordon

    Connecting dots fail.

I didn't say that. Only said what motivates Simmons to say what he said and pointed out what is actually happening here.

I'd rather out together a package to steal away Hezonja.

Orlando is vulnerable. Their GM is trash. Doesn't know what he's going.

Simmons throws a million trade proposals. His motivation is to have more listeners.
You try to rationalise the typical Simmons wacky proposals like it's a part of some sort of masterplan to help Boston in my opinion it's hillarious.

Is he? Or is that the owner? I think Hennigan before the Skiles' hiring was doing pretty good. The fact that such a good GM turned into the worst is very suspect.

He's sucked from day 1. Bad hire. That's on ownership. But he's drafted and traded bad from the beginning.

I don't try to rationalize Simmons proposalS. I did state where Simmons is going and what his motivation is for this particular proposal. There is no question he's got a Celtic bias.

And the fact is you have to understand his Celtic bias to understand some of his trade proposals. But I don't really care about figuring any of that out UNLESS it has to do with the Rockets. Then I think it's somewhat interesting to peel the onion down to his motives and bias and expose him. Simmons is a very intelligent basketball guy. He'd be one of the better GMs in the league if he were ever hired to run a team. He should be respected for his basketball acumen. So when it comes to my team I pay attention to what he says because:

    1. He is basketball savvy.
    2. He is an insider.
    3. He is an analytic.
    4. He knows Morey extremely well.

But, Simmons isn't really a trading partner, just an interested 3rd party. He's like your mother who wants to help you buy the house, but has no assets herself to throw into the deal. She'll even try persuading you into what to buy. Or in cockblocking, she spreads rumors about the other guy in her cotillion, or disses the one and done girls, and steers you to the practical ones with "young footwork".

So, what is codman's roll in all this?

Okafor is a nice talent but I would do backflips if we were able to swing a deal for Noel instead
