It doesnt make any sense, if I'm sacramento why will I settle for a bunch of small assets in Houston when I can get Okafor from Philly directly? If I'm Houston and I'm sending assets for Cousins why dont I just get Cousins who is a better player? And if I'm Philly why will I trade Okafor for Cousins who clearly doesnt want to be on a losing team and will leave in FA?
Seriously, Cousins will never and should never be allowed on this Rockets team. I can't even understand the stupidity that brings that notion of him being a good fit. Harden and Capela are much better off.
Interesting...never considered Young Footwork as a potential Rocket. Good to hear Bill Simmons again.
Some trade talks happen just because one team is trying to prevent another team from completing a trade for a player that the first wants but cannot acquire at present because either the cost is too high or they don't have trade eligible assets until a certain date. Okafor is not a fit here. Remember that.
I'm pretty confident MDA will find a niche for him. Too bad we need a rim protector. Bogut would have been a great fit.
He just told you. Spoiler He's used the hint "young footwork" before. Hint: there is a reason he responded to this thread..
Is that like when you want to buy someone's house, but the cost is too high or you don't have the eligible assets for a loan until a certain date, so you ask the owner to wait, to prevent another person from closing the deal now. Does that work? Damn I'm going to try that sometime.
I don't know how I would feel about him coming here. We need rebounding and defense in the worst possibly way and Okafor doesn't give us any of that. Not sure he's a good fit. Noel on the other hand would be outstanding.
Preach. You don't make a trade that could disturb good chemistry that was developed all offseason. Trade DMo maybe, but that's it. Keep your pieces until you know there's a problem. We started off much better this year because our guys know each other.
Thorpe for Drexler, doe. So, you mean wait for the trade deadline? I guess that's what 'holic is saying. You tell a team to wait on trading someone you might want, to prevent someone else from getting him, because you don't know if you want him, yet, until you have a problem. Am I getting the hang of 'holic's ways of preventing other teams from completing trades that you can't or don't want to make, yet.
I believe this strategy he spoke of is commonly known as 'cockblocking'. We've all done it before. It works.
Ah, you mean you tell the team whose player you might want, that other team is trying to trade them a gay man ... or an alcoholic ... or he's a gold-digger that will leave you as soon as he can ... or there something wrong with his back. OK, I'm starting to understand. So, you either lie about the other players to cockblock the trade ... or, like buying a house, you say you can't afford the trade now, but .... sooon.
Will Cousin fit to our system. IMO we need a player who excel PNR. and that guy i want is Griffin or very attainable Aaron Gordon
The most common of all common cockblocking is the accidental **** block. You just talk and talk so much and get just enough attention from the desired that your competing audience gets tired of throwing out game. Only real way to beat a cockblocker is by having the most obvious and great package. It's like j-roc from Trailer Park Boys is throwing mad game at this fly girl from Detroit down at E11VEN MIAMi, then Eminem walks in and asks the fly honey why she's wasting her time with a scrub. Gotta have a nice Eminem type package, right?
