May be needed at the 4 next game against Millsap. I'm digging the versatility of the young guys, I knew McDaniels could cover multiple positions but thought Harrell and Dekker would only be able to hold up against 4's. Them bringing different elements and proving able to guard 2 spots will really help them get consistent playing time.
Great hands catching all of those bounce passes. Great energy and a good finisher. Hope we see more of him.
Last year I thought Harrell could get utilized in a "Carl Landry" type role - just go in as a GOOD FINISHER and energy player. Landry in his rookie year lent efficient dunk finishes and nice midrange jumper, not much else. Yet he was a beloved positive contributor. Harrell has similar finishing ability. Instead of midrange jumper he has (supposedly) more defensive tools to use. Better footwork on guarding perimeter than Landry, more muscle to play center. Landry was definitely more focused and polished on what he was good at, Harrell more out-of-sorts in what he's doing. Besides lack of rebounding, his focus or lack thereof will determine his time
We need his energy and aggression in the mix. Him and James have good chemistry and the Beard loves throwing him lobs.
When Capela is playing soft like he did last night, that's when we need Trez. Great to see him step up.
How many times has me and Von Rafer told you people since the day he was drafted that he was gonna be a beast?
It was against a crappy Knicks team. And he will have some clunker of moments, possessions and probably games. But I see no reason why this guy shouldn't be a part of the regular rotation. The whole in one game, out another game act is dumb.
If Harrell can consistently defend centers, I could see him becoming a D'Antoni favorite as a floor-running 5 man. Even though Capela and Harrell are both kind of in a similar mold as bigs who rebound, defend, and can't shoot, you can still really see the difference between them in their respective pick and rolls with Harden. Capela is out there basically looking catch the lob, whereas Harrell is quick laterally and can catch a ball at his feet on the move and take two dribbles and dunk. I could also easily see him disappear from the rotation again, because I think the team is committed to Capela and Nene as their centers, and I'm not sure that Harrell can really play alongside either one as a 4 in the style that D'Antoni likes.
