Sure. But Ennis right now has become an expiring UFA able to sign wherever he wants. So his trade value = 0.
There was one play where he gave Iman Shumpert the baseline but did not realize that there was no help at the basket. Result = dunk. Sigh
I'm aware of his prior stats. It's telling that 45% is his career high. If you think that he's a capable shooter, I think we will have to agree to disagree. He has a lot of work to do to even be a below average shooter.
His contract doesn't end until the end of the season. He can be traded at the deadline as an expiring or just as a throw in if needed.
I think he's a decent 3rd string point guard. I think people have no perspective on the facts like, his status or statistics or how to interpret them. I think people should look up things like statistics before they start talking about statistics. These are the things that I think.
Those are great things that your are thinking. 1) I hope he turns out to be a decent third string point guard but he hasn't exactly shown that so far 2) I think that it's quite condescending that you don't think people can interpret three years worth of NBA stats and footage and not come to some sort of conclusion about whether a guy is any good offensively. 3) I think that I looked up the statistics and a single season of shooting 45% from the field does not make him a good shooter nor does it guarantee he can shoot above 40% with the current team. Thanks for your thoughts.
45% 3pnt shooter? LMAO Does anyone here honestly think that if he was such a sharpshooter he would have been traded for Beasley? From a team that is full of Brewer like shooters? Yes. Keep in mind that the team who would trade for him will have LESS ability to pay him than any other team in the league. Because his option was declined. The most he can be paid right now by Houston, next year is the equivalent of his 4rth year rookie contract salary. So in the scenario that he suddendly shows something and some idiot GM decides to pay him more than that, we or the team that trades for him can't pay him the same $. And that's why as a trading "asset" his value is 0.
Beasley has been playing better lately compared to the preseason. Now instead of puke inducing he's just plain disgusting. For some reason Kidd is in love with him.
45% from field. This is a guy with a career 46% TS%. I don't expect the world from him, but if he can maintain or improve on his numbers from last year he could at least be a below average guy. The problem with so few seasons to draw conclusions from is that last season could be normal variation with high values, or it might represent genuine improvement. Based on regular and preseason play, I worry that last season was a fluke - and if a below average shooting season is considered a fluke, I think it's likely he's not going to make it in this league. Don't get me wrong - I want him to succeed and be a competent backup guard. And he's not played enough to make any definitive conclusions about this year. But there's little margin for error in the West, and in the time he has gotten on the court he's been flat out terrible.
Yea because he's talented, unlike Ennis who is atrocious. Not sure how a player who played great for us a year ago became "disgusting"
From his rookie season to the second season he showed improvement in his handle a bit and his confidence. No noticeable improvement in nba skills. He is better than he has shown so far imo, and he doesn't deserve to be the scapegoat. But as long as he doesn't become an elite shooter he won't make it in the league because just being meh, will not be able to cut it for a guard. If he was a meh 7'2 C yes. Very simply. Without a top 5 player like Harden in a team, trigger happy no D scrubs cant be hidden.
Yes he has. 3rd string man. The guy that only plays if someone else is injured. Yeah, he's okay. That's what 3rd stringers are. Okay. Perspective man.... I'm not the one who said he needs to shoot 45% like that's not his reputation. So. Maybe you should look up his % before you dog it. Or how about, look up all-star level PG and tell us what you think of that lol...he's not too far off. Not saying his play is even close but statistically I think he does what you're asking for and you just don't know it. Ignorance is bliss, right up until someone points it out I guess. Sorry for bursting your bubble. You're entitled to your opinion even if it's kinda wrong. No, it doesn't guarantee anything. Neither do 2 games. Certainly not in the context they were played. That's all I'm saying, put it in perspective, in context. He's played well, IDK why Houston fans get off more on dogging their crews but it seems like as a city we hate our own teams more than anyone else. Why? Maybe it's because people just don't know. I'm just spreading awareness.
Very bad decision cutting prigs, can only imagine if we had him taking care of he ball hitting 3s how much offense this team would have
He's still an expiring contract, you can trade for him to clear some capspace since doesn't he make like 2M this year? If you add his ability to be a 3rd string pg, his net asset value may be low but it certainly isn't zero.
So? It's still not zero, which is the point of my post. Also while the cap has increased, the salaries of players have also increased so it's not like you can suddenly have 6 superstars on the team, nowadays no names like Giorgiu Deng are making double digit salaries so expiring contracts will still be somewhat valuable. Anyway I think Ennis has a spot on the team as the 3rd string backup, and with the way he's playing no team will bid for him in FA, which means the Rox can lock him up on the cheap for multiple years, and then benefit when he finally fixes his broken shot. Considering he is already meh now at the very worst, it's actually a no risk small upside deal for the Rox.
