3rd on offense, but dead last on defense. Don't know how accurate it is as a measurement, but it confirms what we've seen so far. Outside of parts of the Dallas games, we've not boxed out, helpside defense has been non-existent, way too much reaching and consequent fouling, perimeter players get past the likes of Harden, Gordon, KJ way too easily, no blocked shots, very little steals, too many easy buckets inside, opposing bigs having a field day, no defensive rebounding etc. Guess Morey and Leslie got what they asked for...a fun entertaining team on offense, but no winning 'product' since defense is of little matter. Just the way D'Antoni likes it too.
Im giving it some time to hold judgement but i must admit that at times it feels like im watching an All-Star game.
In the 2 Dallas games the Defense was serviceable. It were just those 2 losses against LA and Cleveland. All in all, we are a 6-8th seed team but could come close to the 5th seed if we go on a late run by the end of the season.
My feelings exactly. It's early; it's a new team, with a new system. But damn, my greatest fears about what kind of team we'd become under Pringles are starting to be realized. Very one-dimensional basketball.
This is what Les Alexander wanted so this is what he gets. MDA is an excellent offensive coach and the rockets are really fun to watch, but having a poor defense (which was the teams problem last season) under MDA should surprise no one.
So basically everything Les wanted is coming to fruition. You've got to hand it to him. He's a smart man. I just wish he was a sane man sometimes.
No it really doesn't. If you look at these games and think the defense is as bad as last year or anything close to it then I don't know what to tell you. Sure that is thanks to a Dallas team but that's what you get when you rush to judgement after 4 games. I don't get doing that unless there is some kind of agenda that you're eager to prove. We've played 3 teams total so far btw.
The pace we play we're giving up more points. But the defense has shown promise. With that said, this team's defense is still more cohesive than last year's
footage of op Spoiler but i agree with op. we need to trade harden for w/e we can get. his time as a relevant semi-all star is over. father time is calling and its not pleased with james. too much beard hair, not enough defense or careful dribbling around steals leaders tell anderson to take a hike. what a waste of 80 million dollars. play ariza the whole 48mpg and make him guard every single player. tell bev to take a year off so he can stop missing the start of every ****in season trade brewer for a new sewage system for the arena. i heard the bathroom's are backed up with diarrhea **** and piss and mavs apparel and last but not least, plz, if you will, wait at least one more minute to make your final decision on this team. they at least deserve that. im gonna wait two whole minutes, you should do the same.
Jesus f@cking christ we're FOUR GAMES into the season. FOUR. Can we just sit the f@ck down and let the season play out a bit more before we start this relentless b****fest??? I swear the GARM almost ruins watching rockets basketball, y'all are such a miserable bunch.
What is wrong with Harden's bench warming abilities? It is obvious to anyone that is watching the games that all the losses so far this season have occurred to the Rockets getting creamed with Harden on the bench.
Forget offense and defense. The problem right now is that when Harden sits, we are minus infinity. I believe Bev and DMo would help that.... Bev Gordon McDaniels DMo Nene ...but that still might not be enough.
Indeed. The concept of rebounding appears to be as foreign to MDA as does defense. I'm waiting to see what happens when they go against a team like SA that has guys that can play in the paint - it won't be pretty.
Not surprising when D'Antoni thinks it's a good idea to play Corey Brewer, Ryan Anderson and Nene together for extended minutes.
