You've got me confused with someone else on both counts. I just wanted Dre to stay in HOU... If not, don't sign with the Cowboys or a division rival.
I wanted Dre to stay in Houston too, but unfortunately he couldn't take the hit to his ego so he threw a temper tantrum and was a 3rd string WR on 2 rival teams instead. One of those teams he sucked for had Andrew Luck which kills the excuse that he only sucked the previous year due to QB's. When he was awesome, he was awesome, but he faltered at the end. He was a very good player and the best WR in Texans history, but he's got a long wait for any HOF consideration.
Who's arguing he only "sucked" in '14 due to QBs? Shockingly, an even older Dre caught more TDs in '15 than '14 with HALF the targets.
And even when he's eligible he still won't be. I mean he might get in one day after a decade of eligibility but he's behind a lot of more worthy WR's. Even if he never gets in which is very possible, it wouldn't take away from what he's done in his career.
The only guys who MIGHT be more eligible had better QBs. I already went through the numbers with Hey Now. He chose to delete/disregard my comments. You can't win a losing argument, but go ahead and try.
There you are with the excuses again.....superfans will be superfans I guess but I think you do Dre a disservice by going full Lin fan on him.
Weird logic. Why would a better QB throw it for less yards to other receivers? Andre was averaging 14+ per reception. Typically when you force feed guys their average goes down. See Brock and Hopkins this year. 10.8 per reception
Even considering Dre's wack QB roster, he beats most guys with better. Whom do you consider a better candidate?
Well, I know you still need us to teach you football, but better QB's spread the ball around rather than focusing on just one. A better QB hits more different receivers which takes away from the number of targets any one WR would get and thus takes away from the number of receptions and yards they get. You're welcome.
Off the top of my head he's behind Moss, Owens, Megatron, Reggie Wayne,Wes Welker (simply due to being a Patriot), and Larry Fitzgerald. All of those WR's need to be in before Johnson will be seriously considered.
Agreed on Moss, Owens, and Megatron. Neither Welker or Wayne is better nor has better numbers despite the OBVIOUS QB advantage. Fitz doesn't have better numbers at all.
Welker has the advantage of playing for the Pats, he WILL be in before Andre and when it comes to Reggie Wayne, he's got the lead in TD's and yards.....you can bet he'll be in first too.
Not necessarily.... a better QB can hit WRs in stride, which leads more yards and TDs. A better QB will throw LESS INTs enabling his WRs (and the entire offense) more chances for receptions, yards, and TDs.
Better QBs would reduce Andre stats is the new argument I've heard it all. I mean really? We're watching a garbage QB reduce the stats of our elite wr right in front of our eyes this year!
Okay, so Welker's advantages are politics, not actual game/skills. Gotcha Wayne's only real advantage is TDs. Overall, Dre outdoes him with All-Pro selections and 1500-yard seasons, and league-leading stats... dominant things. That said, it's not completely ludicrous to suggest Wayne>Dre, but it's not a smart argument if you're saying Reggie is clearly better. He's closer to clearly NOT better, than MAYBE better.
