Dude what the hell are you talking about. You Dmo nut-huggers are so sensitive. There's so much fail in your post firstly cause I'm not B-holic you invalid. I'm not Bobby either and if you you compare me to those two yuckles again I will verbally excoriate you. No one wants Dmo, well maybe there are some ladies out there that have a taste for Lithuanian 7-footers with degenerative back issues and if there are its not polite to judge. Why on earth would he want a multi-year deal? Why on earth does any athlete want a multi-year deal, security. We all know he's not going to play out whatever contract he signs so he wants to get paid before his contract is voided by an insurance waiver and he rides off into the sunset to log 12 mpg for Rabotnicki. The problem with most of your post is you think you have good points, you don't. You're stating the obvious and you're going after popular posters to try and get a little burn, we ain't roasting marshmallows on this side brah. If you like, I'll stick my ass out the window and let you get a little whiff
Yeah, dude, what the hey are you talking about? BTW - - Offers? Maybe. Offer sheet? No. And 8mil+option is nada? This is 2andahalfdozen pages of armchair speculation. It's all malarkey. Now, in a gentlemanly fashion, please confane because profane is wronger yet.
Well here at 10/31/16... a high 1 year deal isn't happening as the market has spoken. A large multi year deal is only possible if he starts playing, stays healthy, and produces at a high level. That becomes harder to achieve the longer he waits out. Nothing you say adds up. Just stick to throwing darts at a bunch of player pictures, statistically you'll get something right every now and then.
Dude is rich, hanging out with his girlfriend, knows he has millions more waiting for him, doesn't like the way he was treated here, and is probably like "What is the hurry?" He signs Jan 15th, for the rest of the year, he is still an UFA at the end....and gets away from the Rockets. The longer this goes, the more it looks like he really doesn't want to be here. DD
Well the hurry is that the QO has already expired and the Rockets don't have to offer him a deal to retain his RFA rights next offseason. They can say, nah DMO, we like our chemistry, we can talk contracts again next offseason, and he is right back where he started. He is essentially gaining nothing, except burning off a year of his basketball career for no reason. He has no real end game here.
Yeah because Daryl is outside his window on his hands and knees with an ipad and some cepelinai just groveling for Dmo to rejoin the team:
I'm surprised he hasn't signed. Guess he's going to risk even more money hoping on an injury during the season.
Really? I did not know that. So if Dmo does not sign a contract he will still be a RFA this coming summer?
Yes, as long as the Rockets extend him another QO for 2017. As always, they'll have to June 30th, 2017 to do so. You simply cannot avoid RFA. There is no loop hole. In order to sign an NBA contract, once you have been made an RFA, the contract *must* be matchable by the incumbent team, or you must sign the NBA contract with then. There is no path to UFA, no loophole, no way without signing under Right of First Refusal rules for your next contract. You don't have to ever sign another NBA contract again, but if you do, Rockets can match it....again, assuming the Rockets don't renounce his rights or fail to give him another QO next summer, to lock him up as RFA for another year.
Thanks! That really makes this whole situation and this whole waiting game that much more interesting.
7 figure rich ain't as nice as 8 figure rich. He could sign and produce at a high level and get a max contract next summer.... But alas... he doesn't want to bet on himself.
I wasn't the biggest fan of the D'Antoni signing but it is such a positive thing to see actual plays being run out of time outs. What we have here is an actual NBA coach. I have no idea what was being discussed in timeouts when Mchale or JB were here but it wasn't about play calling .
shore...thx for posting your news, took. And if you didn't catch it before, signing overseas isn't a loophole to Rockets losing RFA rights, either. It's all matter of next NBA contract.
Oh, don't get me wrong, I am not on his side here, I think he is making a mistake - thought he should have signed the QO - but I am just trying to figure out the reasons behind the holdout. Sure, that is where I am, I don't think they are screwing him, I just think they are playing hardball which is their right. DD
Sure. That is where I stand. I think DMO would excel in this offense and is just the skilled big man this team needs as we are thin in that regard and Anderson has had health issues. With his passing ability and ability to create his own shot, I think he will do great with this team and have a big year, despite coming off the bench. His value was determined by the market. Any team could have given him an offer, none did, he was sent back to us because he failed a physical so he really should just nut up and sign a one year deal and bet on himself.
