this cracks me the hell up. what a buffoon. doesn't know her twitter handle that is repeated on the air over a thousand times/season, and he thinks that is how she would bid him adieu? to add on to the speculation, this could be an indicator that she never even contacted him in response to the firing.
Please keep Blum! He is so insightful and fun to listen to. He has great stories when the game isn't much to watch. The perfect color guy!
Crane for President?! Ash is a great guy, I just think the road broadcasts, even with Blummer, were just not as good as when they had Brownie behind the mic as play-by-play. Looking forward to seeing who they bring in and the crew they assemble. While we're talking 'stros, the radio guys have good chemistry, but they're definitely hard to listen to at times. Hope this is the first move in a good off-season for the hometown nine.
About time I like Ford as the play by play guy and also the guy they brought up from the minors when Ashby had hid nuts in his throat for a few games this year.
Blum is rounding into a good commentator . **** working with Blum vs with ashby probably could tack on 5 extra years to Browns career .
Just my opinion here but I would love to see Charlie pallilo land the gig. Baseball has always been his wheelhouse. Cp and blummer. Full time, no mixed teams. Deshaies is a big no thanks for me. I'd rather have ashby.
Interesting. I like CP a lot and was bummed to see him get replaced by Innes. CP and Blum would seemingly be a great pair. I love the idea of bringing in CP, he certainly has solid experience and knowledge.
I think Blum's dry humor and experience in the game would be both accepted by CP and be the kinda lighter tone that would keep CP from being overbearingly negative (as some people think he is, I just call it accurate but whatevs lol) but yeah, CP would be my pick.
Y'all are dreaming if you think CP a. would take the gig and #2 be enough of a "homer" to take the gig. No way..
The Ticket, in Dallas, had an afternoon host in their early days - Chuck Cooperstein: east coast, no-nonsense sports talk, etc. type: he transitioned to PBP not only seamlessly but I believe he's gone national on college basketball. He always reminded me of CP and when @Derp McFlopsky made the CP suggestion, I thought of Cooperstein. (Mark Followill also left The Ticket to do PBP for the Mavs.) My guess is that Charlie could handle it without any issues, although he's probably better suited for radio - of course, that puts him back on 790... But an intriguing name, nonethless...
CP is a killer idea. Not sure if that's the kind of thing he'd do or if it would even work well, but I like that thought.
Why would he NOT take the job?? DOes he hate money? And if him NOT being a homer isn't a benefit to this town as a whole, idk what is.
