He did a good job adjusting to what the defense was giving him, 14 points and 12 rebounds without making making any threes. Played decent defense and rebounded well.

Can't Ryno get an automatic 10 points just "Dirking it"? He has the size and skill. Catch it on the wing and do work.

Yep. Liked that he didn't just drift around the three point line the whole game. Hope that continues

Aggrandize and overreact if you must. You were unintentionally funny. You waited all of two games, to make your decision, on a player, based on one game, that doesn't reflect career averages. 5 points on 5 shots is a uncharacteristically poor game for Ryno. How about today's game? 14 points on 10 shots and 12 rebounds in 32 minutes. Will you post when Ryno has a great game and scores 34 points?

Im starting to think we got screwed with Anderson. Dude has been extremely underwhelming.

Dekker is already much better IMHO.

Sucks that he isn't hitting (or even really shooting 3s) but it's tough to be upset with him tonight when he got like 5 ORebs and put backs tonight. He will eventually find and hit some shots.

Been many times he's been open for 3 and teammates aren't passing him the ball. He's not forcing shots, he's playing within the flow of the offense and moving the ball. He should be getting more shots and more 3 attempts for sure. I expect more attempts from 3 will come.

Probably you were expecting a little bit too much.

Needs to come off the bench. He has trouble scoring against starters. He can feast on 2nd stringers like he did in New Orleans. Need DMo back.

A player's salary really makes no difference unless it prevents you from making other moves. We can easily free up max cap room, so see no reason to worry about anyone's contract at this point.

We have learned that attracting star players is a hearty task. Not only do you need a superstar to begin, but you need other key players ready to go.

We severely overpaid for him, he is a decent complimentary player being paid Star money - this was a poor signing.

Gordon on the other hand is an excellent deal so batting .500 for the offseason.

What do you think about Dekker, Montrezl and Motiejunas? How do you see them in comparison to Anderson?

He looked worth it last night hitting the boards and expanding his game. He's more versatile than a spot up shooter and glad our coaching staff seems to make adjustments.

Without dumping positive assets? Who's gonna eat Corey Brewers deal? Who's gonna pay Ryno til he's 34?

You can dump Brewer pretty easily with McDaniels and have max cap space this offseason.

I have no idea who is going to pay Ryno at 34, that is six years from now.

Severely? I think you underestimate how important it is to Harden and Gordon to have a PF that can shoot. He's not paid a star's salary...more like 2/3s what a star would get in unrestricted free agency and the stars are getting hosed by the maximum (i.e. stars are getting severely underpaid proportional to their worth due to their contracts being nerfed by the max). When Rockets run the PnR...the help defense against the roll man is a tad bit slower than last season. Gordon and MDA are not the only reasons that the offense when the starters are in look so much better than last season.

What he's done so far for the Rockets is well below what I expect. I do expect he's just in a bad slump regarding his percentage and usage and will rebound to normal soon.

This. The Mavs stuck a guy on Anderson which opened up the lane. I don't think people realize how much it opens things up when you can't leave a PF open on the 3 point line.

Also like you said, the rising cap has complicated what a player is worth because some folks got new contracts based on the new cap while others contracts are based on the old CBA. It will be a few more years before everything is "smoothed" out.

And it's not like the defenses start the game by not guarding him, then only move out further when he hits a few. You don't want shooters to get hot early.! The defenses will pick other poisons over leaving Ryno open at the arc. So, in that sense, he's always helping Harden/MDA get attack the lane....and we are seeing that with Capela's freedom in the lane, too.

He is very active in the strong side of the plays. He's not just a weakside spot up shooter.

I probably really shouldn't say that like it's fact...still just a theory (an expected Ryno-affect, which is susceptible to confirmation bias on my part), but based on how I'm seeing some plays defended. So, I'm just chiming in to say, keep an eye out for how open the lane is this year, and whether you feel the defenses are sticking with Ryno vs leaving him....that is choosing other him to defend over other "poisons".

I can see it in the first quarter for sure, leading me to believe the opposing game-planning on Ryno is to stick to him, and not wait for him to hit a few to adjust.
