I want to know what the miscommunication is between Brock and Nuk. Hopkins has had a trillion different QBs and not once has there ever been a problem with routes.
I'd love to know that too. The other WR's aren't having those kinds of problems but time and time again Brock and Nuk are on a completely different page and it's hurting the team.
Yeah but that wasn't a timing route, that was Nuk being open. On a timing route you have to trust your WR to run the right route, and a good route. Nuk hasn't been doing that this season for whatever reason.
I agree. My first instinct when I saw that last INT was that it was on Hopkins. That he didn't cut route off he was supposed to. Not sure, though. Of all Brock's INT's so far, I wonder how many were throw when targeting Nuk
Brock has his mind set before the play that he's going to Nuk. Almost all of Osweiler INT's have been just like that to Hopkins. Stop forcing passes and take what the defense gives you. they play cover 2 man, then use your TE's and exploit the middle of the field. he was doing a good job of that before the INT.
Anyone ever think that Brock's INTs when throwing to Nuk basically highlight Nuk's lack of precision on routes? It's something he can definitely work on, but in the past, with less talented (though I lament using that word) quarterbacks, they would throw to Nuk mostly when he was open. Osweiler throws in anticipation of Nuk making his break and creating a yard or two of separation. Sometimes, when the breaks aren't as crisp or precise, INTs happen.
Another thing is that the throw to Nuk in that situation doesn't happen if Fuller just catches the ball that bounces off of his baby midget hands.
the lions are good team should be 5-2 coming into this game which is why I don't understand why not more press coverage. the three teams that stole brock's soul all pressed coverage. completely throws off the already shaky timing. speaking of shaky, stafford looks very shaky with pressure. like clockwork, the texans went to that prevent D they do with the 2 minute warning. CJ, why is he even in the game. the team has to have some responsibility to keep him out. I didn't use to care, if he dies he dies attitude towards concussions back then. But they're kind of a big deal.
Maybe the problem with Nuk is he is running a route that has a variation when he sees something in the coverage and Brock isn't seeing the same thing. That last INT looked like Brock was going to pass it to the spot Hopkins was supposed to be no matter what and Nuk saw a lane to a TD.
