Slavery is over but corporate white america still benefits from the affects of it. There were also other systematic tools like mass incarceration put in place to replace slavery. .....because that's one of the main allegations. It's not a "straw man" when you point out what a group's main arguments are.

 

You're acting as if that is the only thing said by BLM supporters, as if that is the only concern that BLM supporters have. It isn't and you're not willing to even consider their concerns.

 

No, Black Lives Matter implicitly indicates only black lives. Otherwise, it would be Black Lives Matter too. It is inherently racist.

In the video, did the white people seem to be denying the problem? Yes, there were a couple that did, but the others had an open discussion around how ALL people should be treated equally. It is not used as you describe, the same applies to blm, for that matter.

If all lives matter is offensive to black people, that can ONLY mean that black people want to be treated separately and differently, not like ALL people. Is that the case?

What I think is the issue goes far deeper. Blacks view these issues within the context of the issues they have suffered through for a long time. Whites view these issues independently. This is why each group has different views on BLM. Each sees it through a different prism. But, on the surface, there isn't anything racist at all in saying All Lives Matter. In fact, it REMOVES any racial connotations.

 

No that is a stupid viewpoint that makes me call into question your comprehension of words and sentences. You cannot implicitly conclude that Black Lives Matter, as a statement, indicates only black lives. There are only two parts of this statement. A noun (black lives) and a verb (matter). This is 1st grade English.

Other examples that are grammatically identical to "Black Lives Matter"
Brock Osweiler (noun) sucks (verb): This does NOT mean that other QBs don't suck.
James Harden (noun) excels (verb): This does NOT mean that James Harden is the only player that excels.
