Haha. You did offer resume services contingent upon winning, and I am looking for an upgrade in positions in the next 6 months. I am curious to see what you have to offer

You know what, I just remembered an interesting story. Guy calls me and wants a resume. CTO-type candidate. This is back in 2004 or 2005. So, I have him fill out a worksheet- he doesn't have an existing resume- and where it says Current / Recent Employer, he writes Office of the President. So, I'm thinking to myself, "Why is he putting who he reports to where it says Employer?" Because I assumed he reported to the president of his company. Then, I start reading his duties, etc. and it says "Reported to Chief of Staff Andrew Card." So, I'm like, wait, how do I know that name? I look it up, and it was Bush's Chief of Staff at the time. So, I call "Tim" and ask him, and he says, yes, I was the ______ for the White House (senior tech position). Crazy. He didn't report to President Bush, but to the Chief of Staff. And he did interact with Bush, but not too often. It was a long time ago- the one thing I remember, though, is that he said he played a key role in installing the network on Air Force One. Apparently, during 9/11, they had difficulty with their internet access on Air Force One due to lack of a network, or downed network, or something like that- which was a critical problem b/c President Bush needed to get information real-time, of course. And so he was the architect, or the person who led the build-out, of the network that they now have on Air Force One. I'm probably a bit fuzzy on the details, but it was interesting having him explain how the government's technology was far behind the private sector.
That is so cool! My dad was high up in the chain for DoJ in Texas and had the opportunity to meet the Bush family several times. Said he was one of the nicest men he'd met! Said the same thing about Bill Clinton as well. That's is a really cool story though
Pennsylvania isn't going republican. The ONLY possible path to the White House for Trump is the following. And its a long shot. http://www.270towin.com/maps/zmWKK
Florida is up an average of 2.2% Pennsylvania is up an average of 5.8%!! Nevada an average of 2.3% And all 3 toss up states of Ohio, Arizona, and Iowa going to Trump. Uhm ok.
The NYT's Upshot has two excellent infographics to understand how the election can unfold. You can pretty much play with the tabs and bars at the end of the article to see how the elction needs to turn out while seeing last week's polling data http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/upshot/presidential-polls-forecast.html http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/upshot/senate-election-forecast.html
Check this out- and I'll mention him by name, the jerk- you know who I almost worked with? Bob Hill. Remember, he was the coach of the Spurs in 1995 when we whooped their ass in the WCF. Anyway, a few years ago, his assistant calls, says that Bob Hill, the former NBA coach, was recommended to you... and can you work with him on his resume? I said sure, set up the appointment... and he was a no-show. Never called, no email, nada. **** that guy- I was going to charge him double anyway for being a former Spurs coach.
Yeah, I'm sure most of them are fine- we attribute a lot of crap to Presidents- basically their every move and utterance is scrutinized, and any wrong move is magnified 1,000X. And I thought quite a bit about how a Donald Trump Presidency would affect me personally. Truth? Probably very little. Nothing worth getting overly upset about. Let's just get someone in there and be done with this whole mess.
Honestly, we have some good patriots among us! Passionate Americans on either side shows that people in here are good and loyal to the country and that's something I can get behind.
