mauri is clearly in the wrong sport. he should be in baseball. i mean they even made a movie about him starring brad pit (and nicole kidman).
It's really funny seeing the posts of people here, Morey is the reason why we got James Harden if he doesn't know basketball how can a team go from oldest team in the league with Tmac and Yao Ming to the one we have now without tanking? Other franchises like Sacramento Kings have been rebuilding for way longer than us yet look at them now they're crap. Even OKC which had KD, a clear cap and another lottery pick to start with is hardly better than us at this point, and they are still ringless so honestly building a contender isn't that easy a lot of it has to do with luck rather than skill. The only legit complaint I've seen here is the one DD pointed out about Morey and fit/chemistry, but rather than not knowing it's a matter of not caring about it. Morey has gone on record saying they don't care about chemistry and fit because to them superstars will make it work so all they care about is talent. I don't agree with that philosophy and hopefully the way Dwight and Harden crashed has changed their minds about it.
He is smart but after 8 or more years one should ask is he the man that can save the Rockets from Alexander's mediocrity? I say he tried and likely will go down in the process. What was the movie Pitt and Kidman were in? I do not recall a sports movie though.
Every team can afford at least one Superstar. If it wasn't Harden, it would be someone else. To think that DM is the only reason we got Harden is to be naive. If you didn't get a Superstar for Les, you'd be out of a job. The only reason the Kings suck so bad is because they have an owner who meddles more in their affairs. At least Les only makes the Superstar and Coaching decisions and lets DM earn his pay finding the other players.
