If Dwight was doing this as a Rocket the Rockets would have been happy with him. Atlanta is completely ignoring Dwight on offense; his first post touch came in the 3rd quarter at the 4 minute mark. Rockets were *freezing him out of the offense* and he was still more involved than he is in Atlanta.
ATL 30 minutes 4-9 11 points 19 rebounds 3 blocks W Washington 114-99 Clearly James Harden is the cancer. We need to rid ourselves of cancerous Harden and bring back the non-cancerous Dwight Howard. Run the offense through Dwight. Dwight Howard 2016 : Make the Rockets cancer free & great again!
If our GM and/or coach could have motivated or got Dwight to play like Dwight, then this would not be happening. If the story is correct, DM wanted to phase out Dwight at the request of Harden, Les okay'd it, McHale/JBB wouldn't adhere to it, and Dwight started to sulk. It all probably started with Harden.
9 shot attempts for d-quitter give it time and he'll start b****ing to the media about guys with egos
I watched the game. They hardly threw him the ball; Not even to pass the ball to someone else. First post touch came in 3rd quarter. there were hardly any PnRs with the German guy. He could have done that in Houston...
From AP, ''The worst thing you can do is lay an egg in the first game,'' said Howard. ---------------- Laugh my forking ass out.
There hasn't been a single organization or coach that has been able to motivate Howard for long; isn't unique to the Rockets.
If the story is correct, Dwight also wanted offensive touches and post ups. Whether Dwight wanted them to increase his stock in a contract yr or bc he cared, well never know, although based on what he asked from ATL it's safe to say he wanted to be shown the money badly. He got paid and is now cool with the Ben Wallace role, so what does that tell you? We needed to give him the contract he wanted in order to motivate him to play this role for us..
when ATL hits a rough patch he will start to ask for more touches which they will give him leading to more offensive fouls, loses, and frustrations for everyone involved. it's a vicious cycle that's unavoidable because a lack of maturity and a big ego.
Dwight Howard - $23,500,000 this year, next year, and the year after Clint Capela - $1,296,240 this year, $2,334,528 next year, $3,429,421 the year after (qualifying offer) This isn't even remotely a contest that the Rockets are better off on and off the court with Dwight gone. And none of this definitely will matter if we can get Cousins.
There's a difference between rooting and expecting. I expected the team to fail just like I expected Brock Osweiler to.
salary is never a true justification when a player is just flat out better. Now if you're just talking about value wise later down the road then yeah maybe but at this point DH is that much better than CC at this moment. It's going be a long season at the C position this year for Hou
