You're off base. The AP has been reluctant to move Baylor up. Ok State is tougher to beat in Stillwater (we beat them at home, IJS) than beating Navy and should have been ranked when we played them. They would also be ranked atm if the refs didn't mess up that game. UH struggled against Tulsa at home. We're Tulsa on crack.

UH at 11 is a great sign actually. Win out and UH will be pretty high at the end of the season.

If the University of Houston wins out (less than 50% chance they will), then they will probably finish 6th at worst in the end of season rankings. UH still has a top team in Louisville and then would play a top 10 team in their bowl game.

That would give UH wins over three top 10 teams and a loss in a shoot out against a team ranked #25.

I agree with Sammy that UH didn't tumble in the rankings after losing to Navy, UH is back up to #11 in both polls, and a number of teams ahead of them are likely to lose and fall behind UH (if they keep winning). For Example, NEB plays WIS and OSU back to back.... Baylor has UT and OU coming up, WIS plays NEB, A&M plays ALA and another tough game or two.

It is quite likely that UH would be #7-8 range come Bowl season (if they win out... which I don't think they will do).

Post from a UH fangroup.... TIFWIW.

Just had a football player walk into my work. After talking for a bit, he said "Coach Herman cleared up all the rumors yesterday. He's not leaving, it's not about the money. He's happy with the endorsements he's getting"

Me : Why is the team playing this way (losing) he said "man, we have so many beat up players right now. Everyone is hurt"

    Go Coogs!

GG Coogs. Just thought I chime in on what I think is wrong with UH the last couple of weeks.

-Injuries/suspensions are majority of the reason
-Think the Big XII rejection has hit the players/staff and overall buzz pretty hard
-Rumors of Herman leaving the school for any gig in the country has gotten not only him but the players distracted. The players are now playing with a ??? over their head on the future.
-SMU is better than they're given credit for. We can keep up with most teams (barring Temple) but we just couldn't finish games strongly. The defense has improved immensely over the past 3 weeks. Our freshman QB is finally reading the defense better. We just had to put everything together and it happened this past weekend.

Good luck the rest of the way and hope Boise State, Navy, and WMU loses a couple on the way

    Ben Albright(on radio interview):

I was told by two reliable sources at UT that they say it's all but official through back channels. I was told by two sources this is "all but official".

    Herman agreed to terms?

If you know how they go down, through back channels, there's a framework in place. I'd say they have that. I didn't inquire on specifics. I thought it was interesting people connected were saying this is gonna happen.

I doubt it. Just reporters trying to say something that they think is likely so they can point back to reporting it months earlier. I don't think you'll see anything significant until after the regular season ends.

People trying to make a name for themselves, broken clock is right twice a day. When they're wrong no one remembers but if they're right they were the first to scoop. There's credible sources out there tied to UT and UH. I'd wait until they say something over someone who's not connected to this state.

That we're an elite team and beating us would provide recognition for that team and their program. We were a good team ranked several weeks at #6 but we no longer have that same status as we've unraveled to lose twice in three weeks leaving us unranked.

It shouldn't be dismissed that easily. Last year, Herman told players he was in it but was in active negotiations with South Carolina. It was a done deal until the Citadel loss.
