    Next day comments:

Paul LePage, Winger Governor of Maine: “Not accepting the results, I think, is just a stupid comment… I mean, c’mon. Get over yourself.”

South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley: “This election is not rigged, and it’s irresponsible to say that it is. Faith in the democratic process is one of America’s greatest strengths, and it’s more important than the outcome of any election.”

James Hohmann:Clinton has spent the past few months trying to frame the election as a referendum on him. She’s succeeded, in part, because Trump’s favorite thing to talk about is, well, Trump. And he takes everything personally. Trump started his answer on the Supreme Court vacancy, for example, by noting that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said nasty things about him and claiming that she was ‘forced to apologize.'”

Glenn Thrush: “Truly historic moments are rare in politics. But this was a thunderbolt that might have spelled the end for Trump’s dynamic, disorganized and self-destructive campaign and the elevation of the first female major party nominee, whose precision and preparedness has often been overshadowed by her flashier opponent.”

Andrew Sullivan: “In my view, this was easily the most decisive debate. She devastated him. He melted down. His refusal to accept the results of this election disqualifies him automatically from any office in the United States. There were several areas where he was utterly incoherent, grasping at “facts”, without any understanding of policy. His personal foulness emerged.”

Jonathan Chait: “Hillary Clinton has used all three presidential debates to make the case that Donald Trump is unfit for office. Trump has proven himself unable to recognize this strategy, or to learn from his failures, or change his behavior in any way.”

John Avlon: “Once the act-like-an-adult sedatives wore off around 30 minutes into the third debate, he lapsed into his reflexive lying and insult comedy.”

Jonah Goldberg: “I dissent somewhat from the conventional wisdom is the notion that Trump was doing great until that one response. He lied repeatedly and shamelessly, most importantly about all of the stories of his sexual advances being debunked. They haven’t been. (I loved him saying — over and over — that ‘nobody’ has more respect for women than he does. Nobody?) He was doing better than he has in previous debates and he was even scoring real points, but he simply wasn’t doing anything to get voters to see him in a fresh light. And when you’re this far behind, you need to add voters to your column. He didn’t do that. He didn’t even try. And that should be unforgivable.”

Maureen Dowd: “Continuing to deploy lethal darts from her team of shrinks, Hillary Clinton baited Trump into a series of damaging nails-in-the-coffin statements. And it was so easy. The one-time litigator prosecuted the case against Trump, sparking another temperamental spiral, as effectively as Chris Christie once broke down Marco Rubio. In Trump’s warped fun-house mirror of a psyche, every rejection is a small death. That is why he harps on humiliation, that America is being humiliated on the world stage … He gets so easily distracted by belittling statements … that he could not focus to make points in areas where Hillary is vulnerable. In order to stop losing, he would have to stop losing it.”

Stephen Hayes: “Almost every Republican leader I’ve spoken to over the last several days believes Trump cannot win on November 8. They were hoping for a debate performance that wouldn’t cause down-ballot Republicans any more trouble. That didn’t happen.”

Seriously? Instant online polls mean nothing, and Trump even lost the one on Breitbart of all places.

Clinton won the legit CNN poll and absolutely crushed Trump 66-32 in a legit Fox News poll.

Washington post said Trump won and CNN said Trump won the focus group 10 to 5. Both those news organization are anti-Trump so it really means something if they admit Trump won. Trump also is rising in the electoral polls based on his last night performance.

Not that it matters, but I thought Trump did better yesterday than the previous two times and at certain times, made Hillary completely unsettled. If I had to pick a winner, it's Trump...UNTIL he decides to generate more headlines for himself with that idiotic nonsense comment about not accepting the results and calling Hillary a nasty woman at the end. All that good work and you bombed it at the end.

Trump needed his points to stick and I thought they were going to stick until he messed up. Sorry but Hillary's won this overall.

I think did better at the start. But the difference was that Hillary also did better. Because of that Trumps gains were negligible in my opinion.

When the depth of his knowledge is Fox News and Drudge headlines, he can't go more than 30 minutes without going off-script. He doesn't know how to elaborate. He's frankly the stupidest person to be a presidential nominee in modern history.

Did Trump outline any positions, proposals or real legislative plans. Did he say how he was going to get that wall built, you know get it through Congress and the EPA? Did he say how he was going to defeat ISIS? Did he mention Climate change, dwindling support of the party and it's Speaker?

    1. Trump has no idea of any basic biology regarding abortion. He clearly decided to spew scare rhetoric to attempt to gain Christian votes

    2. Missed following up on Clintons weaknesses. There were moment to hit her o n but course, he can't get out of his own way.

    3. He can't debate for 30 minutes without his narcissism kicking. All Hillary had to do was egg him on and he gets angry and loses focus. If he can't debate for 30 minutes, how the hell is this guy supposed to lead for 4 years?

    What a joke

    From Washington Monthly (format changed)...

Trump policy discussions in the debate:
    • Appoint SCOTUS justices who will defend the 2nd amendment and overturn Roe v Wade
    • Have strong borders, build a wall and get “bad hombres” out
    • Renegotiate trade deals
    • Cut taxes massively
    • Have leaders in big business negotiate our trade deals
    • In order to fix entitlements, cut taxes and get rid of Obamacare
Hillary policy discussions in the debate:
    • Articulated her position on SCOTUS nominees
    • Defended the 2nd amendment and common sense gun safety
    • Defended Roe v Wade
    • Offered a clear plan for how to grow our economy
    • Reiterated her commitment to comprehensive immigration reform
    • Discussed the importance of retaking Mosul from ISIS and then move on to retake Raqqa in Syria
    • Defended her support for a no-fly zone in Syria
    • Articulated the importance of working to stop home-grown terrorism
    • Reiterated that her investments in economic growth will be paid for by having the wealthy and corporations pay their fair share
    • Discussed her plan to raise revenue for the Social Security Trust Fund and committed to no reduction in Social Security or Medicare benefits.
Whether you agree or disagree with her policies, you can't question that she knows her policies.

That is out and out un-American. Repubs will need to spend millions of dollars and thousands of hours investigating this.

You realize these are opinion articles from individual writers, not the editorial board, right? and that there are several of them published in each paper that say "so-and-so won", right?

See, here's an opinion piece from Wapo today saying Hilldog won: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...-losers-from-the-final-presidential-debate-2/

You also realize that when polls are done the sample size typically has to be 1000+ to be valid, right? 15 is a lot smaller than 1000.

Horrifying bad night? Won the online polls substantially. Won the CNN focus group substantially. You can think what you want, but Hilary had a worse night tonight.

I hope all of you can follow
She says one thing in private, the other in public. What does she stand for?

Private-Open Borders,Against second amendment, admitted that allowing refugees in was a horrible idea(Wikileaks) and would harm America. Hilary is big business(similar to Trump) and she's said as much to Goldman Sachs

Retaking Mosul is a mistake she's responsible for. Thats not a good policy, that's admitting a mistake. How come Trump owned her in foreign affairs? Wasn't that her job while he was on "the apprentice"

I was upset she was able to avoid the no fly over question. I was curious the moderator didn't call her out for her "open borders for energy" comment. That was a DIRECT lie to the American people.

It was comical how she recited her lines for American women but goofed up when Trump asked her to return money to the countries that treat women horribly.

Shes proven time and time again to be about one person. Herself. She will tell anybody anything to get their vote.

Can you blame them for looking at the positives? I mean, let's give them all props for finding the silver lining in all of this. It's healthy for them. I just hope they're equally as able to handle defeat.
