Parsons Budinger (played in the league for 7 years with the #44 pick) Brooks Landry Capela etc etc Harrell is at least a bench rotation player for #32 Dekker might be a rotation player at #18 6 rotation players in 9 years at the #25 pick or better? Find more than 3 teams that have done better than that (San Antonio is probably one). You want him to make chicken salad out of chicken sht. The picks are low. It sounds like no matter who he picks you won't be satisfied.
And yet none of them good enough to be part of the core. None of them close to being all stars. None of them good enough to be at the least the 3rd best player (maybe Brooks aside) Maury = Mediocre drafter
I don't mind that Nanu isn't playing. A few years down the line we may look back on this as a really good pick. The new generation NBA stars are all centers; the league seems to be going back to the paint. Nanu might not be an offensive juggernaut, but he might be able to guard them. Capela and Nanu as the Rockets defensive bigs will look good in the future. PLUS the fact that he looks at his game and realizes his deficiencies is hugely promising. I can't get over the fact that he went to the "granny shot" despite sinkers because he wants to get better no matter what. The mind set is there. The willingness to learn from others is there.
Onuaku is being assigned to RGV, because we are going on a 5-Day road trip, and I suppose they also want him there for RGV opening camp. Don't read too much into it.
How many picks from DM has ended up as a bust? I honestly can't think of many myself. Most of them have been useful.
He's the 10th youngest player in the NBA iirc. He is going to be useful for sure, but will barely play this season. Good passer, good rebounder, good IQ.
cap and ne will take up most of the center minutes. then there's anderson and harrel. no need for nanu. let him work on his game through the dleague. call him p if we get injuries.
Um Morey actually never drafts 19 year olds lol. Lamb and Clint are the only other 19 year old morey has ever drafted. Morey has been drafting jr and seniors: Patterson, Morris, Budinger, Parsons, Jermaine Taylor(the next DWade Lmao), Johnson, etc.
Who the **** gets multiple all stars and core players from bottom 2nd round every year? Any moron can complain no matter what you do, why don't you list GMs who continually get multiple all stars with low 2nd rounders before you complain? 99% of 2nd rounders whether low or high are dropped after their contracts are up, to get someone who's good enough to stick on the roster is actually an accomplishment already. This is the problem with people who complain about Morey, they just complain without using a benchmark. Nobody is saying Morey is perfect, but at the same time to call him mediocre without any reference point is just dumb.
On topic, Chinanu won't see any play this season if everyone is healthy...honestly we don't want him to see any play at all except in blowouts because he's still figuring things out so he'll suck so bad. Big men usually take 4-5 years to be good enough to be on the court unless they happen to be just really talented like Capela, this is why all the decent big men you see in the NBA bloom when they're 24+ and Chinanu is like only 20 right now. The good news is he's getting NBA training from the start so his foundations will be really good, none of that AA crap against scrubs he's gonna have NBA trainers working on his core and skillset and then he can practice those skills in RGV. We'll see what happens but I think he's gonna be a decent value player for us down the line.
Post some objective evidence that Morey's draft picks underachieve relative to expected performance at their draft spots. Oh wait, such evidence doesn't exist, because you're just a troll who constantly posts negative nonsense hoping for cheap rep/likes.
