I know we're not supposed to say this, but I think your sauce is weak, OP.

Sure, why not bring another injury prone player along for the ride. Especially with the imminent report on Beverley being out for weeks and not himself for the rest of the year, you would think Morey would sign another PG just in case. If he gets signed, please just let him rehab until 100% healthy and not get minutes right away. Dekker has earned his time right now as the back up PF and we can go small with Ariza there as well so don't really need him right now.

One would be naive to think a team will go a full season without a significant injury. Having more better players at your disposal means you lose less quality time to injuries. Hell, DMo may not even be ready to go for 40 games and he could still be a big factor in the season. And why anyone would not want a 7 footer who runs the floor, passes off the high post and has an array of post moves would be a mystery to me.

The 4 million is not for sitting on the bench, it's for the hours and hours of rehab, weight training, practice and the genetic rarity.

When was the last time a team with a meaningful inside post presence on offense won a championship? It's been a while. Not the Cavs, Warriors, Spurs, Heat or Mavs.

    Probably the Lakers with Pau.

Doesn't mean it can't be useful... but DMo isn't Pau and it's clearly not necessary anymore. With this offense i don't think it matters at all.

Defense, rebounding, hustle, put backs, hitting an open 10 footer... those are skills that matter more for bigs in this team. And DMo does bring some of that.

I would characterize LeBron as a post presence on offense.

We do want him, just at the right price. Like BJ, we aren't going to negotiate against ourselves. UNLIKE BJ, we actually have all the leverage here. If someone signs D-Mo to an appropriate contract, we will simply match. Otherwise, it's just a waiting game where D-Mo will eventually be starved into signing a contract. When players stop getting checks, they get proactive.

he's a post presence in situations here and there but his post game isn't what kills an opponent. it's just a versatility added to everything else he does on the court well not only for himself but for the team.
