It seems strange that they would have agreed on the price and not signed it on the spot. He is missing training camp, neither side wants that. I'm sure they will sign him but I don't think an agreement was reached. More likely they're on the same page about first year, but are still negotiating whether second year will be team option or partial guarantee.
Has the greasy lump Keith Jones been fired already? With him, I see recurrent back issues for DMo. This dude couldn't even fit Dwight's contact lenses.....
I assume very little negotiation is happening at this point. DMo is hoping some team changes their mind caused by something like a preseason injury, and offers him a better contract. The Rockets probably know DMo will sign shortly if something doesn't change.
Thanks Daryl ! Good News that you decided to get it done and glad to still have you as a undercover member !
Source: A cursory glance at what's going on. lol naw that's cool though. Glad he's going to be back, coming in for Anderson and providing that big man with scoring punch is going to help the depth and diversity of this team. ESPECIALLY if he's going to be going against 2nd teamers a lot, he's going to eat and eat well. Not a lot of starters knew what to do with that sweet little jump hook.
Sounds like we've turned the corner on negotiation deadlock and are finally on the same page. We'll soon be going full boat.
Unlikely... as he was never as good as some seem to think he was. He was a rotation big in the NBA at his absolute best. I doubt Daryl Morey or Coach P.T Barnum really care that much if he signs or not.
IDK where the hate for Keith Jones stems from. I mean he might be not the best in his field but he frequently got involved with Team US. His record must be ok, right?
His absolute best was being the most dominant big man on the court against a team with a great front court including the 1st team all NBA center. Before his injury problems, he had developed into a solid rotation big most nights (Granted, it was a small sample size)...not at his absolute best. Rotation bigs are important.
What's with all the love for DMO? He's a soft big who can't do what most bigs do and sometimes gets lucky and hits a 3. Not trying to hate just don't get why people want him on the rockets so much. Capella > NENE > DMO
Pretty low quality post intelligence wise... Did you even watch Rockets games 2 years ago? D-Mo has a unique skillset and is a hard and smart worker. He is a good positional defender. His height makes him a solid rim protector. He's a good passer, good post up player with an automatic hook (great by today's sorry standards), an average 3pt shooter who was rounding into a really good shooting stretch, and can run the floor. Now, will he ever be a star? Assuming he bounces back into form, probably not. But assuming he is able to regain his past form, he is a very legitimate role player that can backup our injury prone bigs in Anderson and Nene. First, it's Capela not Capella. Secondly, he is NOT better than Nene, not by a long shot. A healthy Nene at this time is streets ahead of Capela. Capela shows promise, but is still very much a very raw, WIP player. D-Mo is a garbage rebounder though. When you are the biggest guy on the court, you go up and grab that sucker. You DON'T keep trying to tip it to guys a foot shorter than you.
Because were a team cursed by injuries since Dream was traded and Keith has been around it all that time. If anything, he's like a dead rotting rabbits foot.
