How is this a failure for the Big 12? They didn't add any "so-so" team and will still get their TV partners to pony up $$ to not expand. How is that bad?
I guarantee you that 10-15 thousand isn't even close to accurate for UH. It's just as well, the Big 12 will die soon and when it does other conferences will evolve and adapt accordingly. Sucks for them right now of course, but not a huge loss long term I'd bet.

It sounds like McCombs is hinting that UT and OU are not long to stay in the Big 12, and they need to start backfilling before the best candidates are gone.

Locked out? An undefeated Big 12 team will always get in assuming one P5 team has a conference champ with one loss. Conference championship game starts next season so that will help
The Big XII is dead. Texas and OU are now biding their time to jump ship. UH would be wise to look elsewhere or otherwise try to join UT/OU when they move.

57 straight weeks in the rankings, which is the 4th longest streak in the country. That's a long ass time to be in the top 25. We're talking over 5 seasons worth of games. Elite 8 appearance, 2 sweet 16 appearances in recent years. Beautiful campus and facilities. You know that cool sport with a round leather ball? Yeah, we're pretty competitive in that.
