They are learning each other and experimenting. D'Antoni needs to realize that some games you NEED to go to the beach quicker and let those guys play. The starting unit, and specifically Harden, needed shorter minute bursts tonight.

Not very good play from our help defenders at the nail. Too many good 3 looks from the wing. Too slow. Harden definitely can't defend there. Too much responsibility. But even Brewer and Ariza looked slow

Some looked planned to let them shoot it though. Who knew Gasol has a 3 now, for instance, let JaMychel Green shoot and maybe the book is not out on Troy Williams, yet.

On the plus side, we held Troy Daniels to 1-9 and 0-4 from three. :)

Well if we are looking at the numbers from these last 4 preseason games and trying to make judgements... what about the fact that his true shooting percentage is better than it ever has been as a Rocket or his assist percentage and rebound percentage are at its highest in Houston and his assist to turnover ratio is right at its highest. Also his net rating so far this preseason is far and away better than any other year in Houston.

It's not all bad. In fact I'd say there has been way more to be excited about in watching him so far than not.

Meh I wouldn't too much stock here unlike previous games it was scrub vs scrub. It was a good game to watch extremely entertaining but majority of the guys who played significant minutes will see play in the regular season.

That's not an excuse . I'm explaining what is happening. Do you really think harden forgot how to score and how to look for his . Right now he is solely for playing distributor to work on his feel for the offense and work on chemistry .
He will be aggressive in the regular season . There is no need for him to take it to the hole right now , in fact , I wouldn't want him to because it's better for his body .

That's true, he knows how to run the offense and is showing great vision. Getting to the line and rebounding as well

Offense got cold. Shooters began laying bricks. Ugly start

No it won't. Full court presses are very easy to break after you've practiced it.

Honestly, the trip from China back to the US kills you for about a week jet lag wise. As far as excuses go, it's actually a good one.

Agreed. All you need to do is implement one or two simple counters to the initial double of James and you've already beaten the half court line within a couple of seconds. Who on earth prepares to counter a full court press in the middle of pre-season.

I'm glad that Memphis brought it out now because you now know that is something D'Antoni is going to stress before the season starts, and not after it costs us an L when the games matter.

This is exactly what I thought.

How on earth can people think it's doom and gloom with Harden after a few pre-season games?

His season this year is going to be sensational.
